Top Indian Songs of the week 10th March 2024

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 10th March 2024.1. Le Le Pangey Singer: Sanjith Hegde, Anurag Kulkarni, Varsha S KrishnanComposed by - Sanjith HegdeLyricist - Kausar MunirMusic Producer - Gautham Hebbar, Sanjith HegdeLanguage: HindiGenre: Disco-popMood: EnergeticBejoy Nambiar must truly be appreciated for his commitment to the art of cinema, as keeps on experimenting. He deserves even more praise for getting indie musicians a chance to showcase their talent on the big screen. This song is the best in the album as Sanjith Hegde composes and performs this energetic disco-pop single. To me, Sanjith, Charan Raj and Gautham Hebbar show many Indian musicians how to create an original song in this genre without sounding similar to the work of Bee Gees. Rithu Vysakh sizzles on the violins as he not only performs but also arranges the section. Varsha Krishnan and Anurag Kulkarni accompany Sanjith on lead vocals, and the chorus is formed by Narayanan Ravishankar, Santosh Hariharan, Srisha Vijayasekar and Abinaya. The song feels uplifting as we hit the chorus segment. The outstanding, world-beating production is by Sanjith and Gautham Hebbar. The rhythm programming is of stunning quality and Fodfray Immanuel keeps up the charm on guitars. The singing by Sanjith elevates to a much higher orbital as expected in the stanza and it is one roller-coaster ride just listening to this splendid piece. The synth-heavy and keyboard-led part where Sanjith sings " aa aa aa" is brilliant. Nisthula Murphy is the project supervisor, Sanjay Romauld is the recording engineer and Sujith Sreedhar is the mix/master engineer at 2BarQ, Chennai. @sanjithhegde @varsha_skrishnan @anuragkulkarni7 @kausarmunir @nikifying @zoamorani @tjbhanu @sanchana.natarajan @imarjundas @kalidas_jayaram @tseries.official @gauthamhebbar @_srishaaaa__ @santoshhariharanlive @sujithsreedhar @rithuvysakh2. Jaage Re Jaage Naina Singers: Shashwat Singh & Prateeksha SrivastavaLyrics: Himanshu KohliMusic: Yug BhusalMusic Production, Mix & Master: Roop MahantaLanguage: HindiGenre: Light Music/PopMood: RomanticPrateeksha Srivastava has been doing quite well in many indie projects of late, where she composes and writes but here it feels like some nice recognition of her abilities when another composer/producer offers her a vocal role. Shashwat Singh is another talented singer who deserves many more things going in his favour and this song is a good exhibition of the vocal abilities of both Prateeksha and Shashwat. We get a beautiful melody that reminds us of the works of Pritam, Shankar-Ehsan-Loy and so on. Prateeksha enhances the beauty of the notes with her expression and tone. I love the line " aankhon she khwaab churaye, hoton pe baat chupaaye" for its melodic strength, and lyrical value. Himanshu Kohli writes the words, Yug Bhusal writes the melody, and kudos to both. Kiran Vinkar's woodwinds play midly in the background and Ishan Das doubles the pleasure with his guitars. The interlude is laden with such goodness as we get some melodious notes on the woodwinds, and it is Roop Mahanta who glorifies the song with the fantastic arrangements and rhythm programming as well. The stanza is where Shashwat opens his account and it feels like a gift from the heavens as he sings the stunning line "behti tu ek nadiya". I had such a great recall of AR Rahman's album "99 Songs" when I heard Shashwat's voice. The vocal harmony arrangements are outstanding as well. The song transports me to a better place and I am sure it will brighten your day as well. Rupjit Das is the recording engineer and Roop does the mixing and mastering. The outro with the combined vocals of Prateeksha and Shashwat with the woodwinds playing in a feeble tone is a fitting end to the song. @officialprateeksha @shashwatsinghofficial @yugbhusalofficial @theritikarai @dishant_gullaiya @roopmahantaofficial @rupjit_playheadstudio @ishandas_666 @himanshukohli @kiranvinkarflute 3. Kagaz Singers - Garvit - PriyanshComposers - Garvit - PriyanshProducer - Garvit SoniLyricist - Priyansh Srivastava Language: HindiGenre: Semi-classical fusionMood: RelaxedThe song is named "Kagaz" and I can give it in writing on a piece of paper that Garvit-Priyansh would be one of the most trusted and reliable duos/bands in Indian indie music. They keep coming up with such beautiful songs like bags on a conveyor belt. Garvit Soni and Priyansh Srivastava are the source of inspiration to most Indie musicians thanks to their consistency and quality. This song as always has been composed by the duo and also been performed by both. Garvit is the producer and Priyansh is the lyricist. The soothing vocals along with the acoustic guitar and strings section in the background are tranquil. The line "na kahoge tum, na kabhi kahenge hum, kagazi sa hamara ishq hai" is sentimental and touching both musically and lyrically. The verses are simple in their structure but it is the singing and gentle instrumental arrangements that deliver the goods. A music lover can spend an evening just listening to this and he/she will never know the way time passes by. @garvitsoni_ @maninychakrabarty @ruchelle_dadwani @suhanichandhok @startistmanagement @gaganverma26 @priyanshhhsrivastava @garvitxpriyansh 4. Love Nahin Toh Kya Hai Music Composed & Produced by: Salim SulaimanSingers: Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita KanjilalLyrics: Shraddha Pandit Music Co-Produced: Raj PanditLanguage: HindiGenre: PopMood: RomanticHere they come again, the Merchant brothers ain't gonna stop, and this is hopefully the start of something once more magical in 2024 from the brilliant composer/producer duo. They have composed and produced this beautifully written song and Salim-Sulaiman brings on Indian Idol supremos Pawandeep Rajan and Arunita Kanjilal as lead vocalists for this romantic single. Muheet Bharti is present and he paints a stunning picture using the acoustic guitars, and we then have Arunita and Pawandeep joining forces and adding vocal layers. To be honest the song's intro and pre-chorus segments were run-of-the-mill for me. It then starts sounding very catchy with the title "yeh love nahi toh kya hai", the bass guitars and innovative sounds probably from the talk-box amp up the style. The verse begins with a terrific line that goes "aankhon mein kaajal na tehre , ki tu basa inme", and is loaded with melodic and vocal goodness. If Arunita steals the heart with the voice and the mild ghamaka, Pawandeep stamps his authority and confidence when he sings the next lines. The arrangements, production and sound design are very typical of Salim-Sulaiman and that is why it remains the best segment of the song. Kudos to Shraddha Pandit for these relatable lines. Raj Pandit is the co-producer and we have the usual suspects Aditya Kalway, and Raj once again on recording at Blue Productions, Aftab Khan as the mix/master engineer and Vatsal Chevli assisting with mixing. @pawandeeprajan @arunitakanjilal @shraddhapandit @salimsulaimanmusic @rajpandit17 @aviral_kumar @mixedbyaftab @muheetbharti @merchant_records @warnermusicindia @adityakalway @vatsalchevli @choklate.pi @shivansh.j

Top Indian Songs of the week 3rd March 2024

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 3rd March 2024.1. ViduthalSingers: Dhee, ofRoComposed, Arranged, Produced: Santhosh NarayananAdditional Programming: Aditya RavindranLyrics: Mu.RiLanguage: MalayalamGenre: Heavy MetalMood: Energetic / EerieI was eagerly awaiting the release of the movie " Anweshippin Kandethum" to see Tovino Thomas in the lead, and more importantly, it would be Santhosh's full and proper debut in Malayalam as the composer. There was only one full-length song in this thriller and it was released a few days before the movie. This song had everything I needed to be blown away, from Dhee and ofRo's superlative lead vocals to some exhilarating live instrumentals. Mu.Ri is the lyricistSanthosh Narayanan lives up to his name as he creates this track that matches the tone of the movie. Slow and intriguing at times, and then brisk and energetic within seconds. Dhee uses her amazing tone to sing these lines with such intensity and passion and the heavy Piano adds to the intrigue. She ends her line with a high-pitched note and then the blazing electric guitars knock you down thanks to Aditya Ravindran and Simeon Telfer. OfRo joins the party singing the title lines and it feels like an anthem egging Tovino on his journey to solving the murder mysteries. This is supreme Heavy metal stuff, and where Santhosh keeps delivering is when during the next verse, the bass guitars and the lo-fi-styled vocal samples create an eerie tone. I love how Santhosh then creates a melody on the electric guitars and that forms the interlude. It is not over yet as we get Manoj Kumar playing a scintillating solo on the violin. He pierces the heart deep with that solo and he ends it with a nerve-wracking high-pitched finish. Notice the way the electric guitars and the phenomenal drums join during the end of the interlude. There are these vocal harmonies we keep hearing adding to the thrill and they are performed and arranged by Aditya. Finally, we get the title line being uttered by OfRo and David Thomas earns huge respect for his outstanding drums, especially the way he just beautifully increases the beats per minute just before the bridge section. OfRo exhibits incredible energy towards the end and Manoj delivers the icing on the cake with another magical solo intervention on the Violin. Dhee hits the winning runs by closing the song with that admirable line of rising notes. We have Vijaynarain and Santhosh on the chorus, and the song's recording is done by Santhosh, Karthik Manickavasakam, Pranav Muniraj and Rupendar Venkatesh. Rupendar is the mix/master engineer with Meenakshi Santhosh as the Musicians' Co-ordinator. @musicsanthosh @adityaravindran95 @ofrooooo @parari_muhsin @dhee__ @vijaynarain @rupendar_venkatesh @karthikmanickavasakam @pranavbalu @davidthejoseph @manojviolinist @simeontelfer 2. NandanandanaaMusic: Gopi SundarLyrics: Anantha SriramSinger: Sid SriramSong Arranged And Programmed By: Gopi SundarLanguage: TeluguGenre: Semi-classical PopMood: RomanticHe is back again, Gopi Sundar with a brilliant composition in Tollywood. He ropes in Sid Sriram and the combination works like wine and cheese. It is not easy to serenade a music lover with such beauty these days, because we are now in an age where a few gimmicks and production alone compensate for any writing deficits by a composer. I am hoping that the song has influences from Abhogi Ragam and the song that I am reminded of the most is Vidyadagar's " Konja Neram konja Neram". Sumesh Parameswar is a gentle giant on guitars and bass here making a delightful start and Sid just drizzles with his fantastic tone all over. The humming that comes like a guitar being strummed feels chirpy and stylish. Christakala and Athira Janakan join in chorus. Biju Annamanada plays the Veena solo in the interlude and here one more amazing semi-classical number I am reminded of is Maestro Ilaiyaraja's "Indraikku Yen Indha". This is accompanied by the Ghatam and the violin by Idappally Ajith Kumar playing mildly in the background. Gopi Sundar makes some magic by mixing semi-classical notes with a very funky Pop style of arrangements. OK Gopi is mesmerising on the Nadaswaram in the second interlude. The interventions on the Violin and Veena are outstanding during the stanzas. Babu Velayudhan, Priya Nair are the Music Production Managers. The recording engineers are Rajath Raveendran, Nevin C Delson, Gopi Sundar and Joe Antony. The mixing and mastering are done by Balu Thankachan @ 20db Black Studios. @gopisundar__official @anantha.sriram @parameswarsumesh @christakalaofficial @athirajanakan 3. WhateverWritten and Performed by: HasanProduced by Aman Arakh Drum Programming: Gaurav KhannaLanguage: EnglishGenre: Ballad/RockMood: RelaxingHasan reached out to me ahead of his new song, and I love when such interactions turn out to be treasure troves like this one. This ballad is gentle but it knocks on your door relentlessly and rises in intensity. The melody and lyrics are penned by Hasan and he evokes all the right emotions while performing the lead vocals. Aman Arakh masterfully produces the song and if Hasan plays the titillating acoustic guitar, Yohaan Pissurlenker is the cool bassist. I love the line in the verse " And I don't want to move ahead now, But I'm at a fork and I've got to choose myself", both for the notes and words. The backing vocalists add a beautiful layer and it it helps the song get a richer tone. Damini Gautam and the sensational Brecilla D'Souza are the vocalists here. The song rocks you away to a gentle sleep during many portions thanks to the beautiful melody and overall arrangments. Tanishk Diwaker plays the keys and Gaurav Khanna makes things upbeat by working on the drum programming. The writing and vocals are magnificent, to say the least, and another example here is " Endings can be beautiful, Sunsets don't torture your soul. They always lead to new dawns". A cameo awaits and Warren Mendonsa explodes onto the scene with his electric guitar solo towards the end. Shikhar Chaudhary and Aman play additional guitars. The vocal harmonies are arranged to perfection with not even a second being dulled down or being predictable. These are the kinds of songs that give music lovers hope, "Yes we'll find a way now. Kudos to the whole team. Aman is the recording, mixing and mastering engineer. @hasanbaldiwalax @acrimonius_aman @gauravvkhannaa @yohaanbass @blablaboi.10 @shikhar_c @daminivox @brecilladsouza @blackstratblues 4. Entha PremaSingers: Sunitha Upadrasta & Achu RajamaniMusic Director: Achu RajamaniLyrics: Krishna KanthLanguage: TeluguGenre: BalladMood: RelaxedIf I have to quickly mention the composer and singer here, I am enthralled and enamoured by both of these amazing musicians. Achu Rajamani, the composer has been around for a while now and making steady waves. His pedigree is rich and he has also assisted MM Keeravani. Recently I featured an amazing song "Oh na Madhu" from the album 'Month of Madhu' and when a Telugu-speaking friend of mine appreciated the BGM score of the movie so much. When it comes to Sunita Upadrasta, I keep wondering why I haven't featured her even once since 2019 when I started my journey of music journalism. Just last month I featured a beautiful melody performed by Sunita called "Sandela Kusuni" and now I keep raving to people about her voice and her immense abilities. This is a ARRahman-esque song with terrific sound design and arrangements and it feels like KS Chithra is in full flow. You are drawn into the song and when she sings "Entha Prema" you just have to fall in love with the music. Chennai Strings dominate in the interludes and background after she finishes singing " manasa". It feels like Raag Desh or maybe Raag Shankarabharanam (Bilawal in Hindustani) to me, either way the melody is pristine, and Sunitha makes it heavenly with her vocals. The strings section along with the rhythms is just like drops of honey falling on my lips. Bruce plays the guitars and Balaji Bhaskaran handles Sound Modification.

Top Tamil Songs of January 2024

Here are the best Tamil songs released for the month of January 2024. If you are a musician submit your new music here.1. Katchi SeraComposed & Performed by Sai AbhyankkarMusic Produced by Sai AbhyankkarLyrics by Adesh KrishnaAdditional Vocals by Sai Smriti Music Programmed & Arranged by Sai Abhyankkar Language: TamilGenre: PopMood: Happy Sai Abhyankkar a.k.a. Abhay releases this brilliant pop number would deserves to be at the top of the charts undoubtedly. I am thrilled to see such amazing talent exhibited by Abhay, who has single-handedly created this banger. He has written the melody, sung the lines and along with that arranged and produced the song to perfection. It all begins in such a mellow fashion, but the moment Abhay starts singing our hearts just grow fonder. The cool and casual style of delivery is executed brilliantly and let us not forget Adesh Krishna's apt lyrics. Sai Smriti sings in the background and delivers those stylish and teasing Konnakol lines. The impactful bass is accompanied by engaging keys, synths and the Vocoder, all played by Abhay. Do remember to check in the song's official video on YouTube as it has some stunning choreography by Anusha Viswanathan and all the dancers from The Dancers Club. The interlude is filled with the Nadaswaram by Parthiban, the DIY Duduk and Bawu played by Ashish and all the wonderful rhythms programmed by Abhay. Many musicians assume that a song with a couple of catchy lines is good enough for the listeners to enjoy, but Abhay deserves huge appreciation for going further and giving us a cherished experience and you can feel the hair rising with the melodious notes of the stanza as he sings " yaarum parthu ninnu pesavilla". He sings the lines with such finesse and it is like he knows the magic formula to make a song sound hypnotic and addictive. Whether you understand the lyrics or not, I urge the readers to listen, see and dance their way to bliss with this one. The electric guitar is played by Rohan Sebastian, while Abhay is on the acoustic guitar. Yanka Rhythm Group is in charge of the reverberating live rhythms, and the tracks are mixed by Sai at YOLO Records and mastered by Rupendar Venkatesh. @abhyankkar @thinkindiecollective @tatva_man @directedbykenroyson @anu_viswa @thedancersclub @rupendar_venkatesh @my_deceptive_cadence 2. Megham Pol Aagi Song Composed Arranged by JAKES BEJOY Lyrics: THAMARAISinger : KAPIL KAPILANMusic Producers : JAKES BEJOY, HARISANKAR VLanguage: TamilGenre: Light Music / PopMood: HappyJust like I have consciously decided to include instrumental music every week, I am also going to get Tamil songs into the list as long are worthy of the spot. Last year I published a monthly on Tamil music ( Tamil being my native tongue) and kept them away from the India weeklies, but now I believe the larger crowd will benefit and take inspiration from the great Tamil songs too if I include them in the weekly playlists. This one is from an upcoming Tamil movie called "Nirangal Moondru" and it has some good music as of now with the first single turning out to be a delightful melody. Kapil Kapilan sings it with such finesse and there is romance flowing through his delivery. Thamarai writes beautiful lyrics that blossom in love just like the name Thamarai which means "Lotus". I just love the anu pallavi " kaatrum veesuthe, kaathoram pesuthe" is terrific musically and lyrically. The rhythms and keys are terrific in the programming. The trumpet by Babu solely adorns the interlude segment with Jakes and Harisankar V being the men in charge of production. The stanza continues to serenade us and when Kapil sees a shift in the trajectory with the line " Naan ezhutha kavithaiyellam unnodu, nee nadanthal nizhalai pinnodu" is a stunning landing line from the charanam to the chorus segment of teh song. Kapil's mild vibrato does more than enough to steal your heart. The clarinet (programmed) is excellent in the written notes and execution and makes for one dreamy interlude. The session is arranged by Daniel Joseph Antony and Maneeth Manoj. The guitars, mild strings section, horns and keys celebrate the melody to its fullest. The recording engineers are Midhun Anand, Daniel Joseph, Maneeth and Midhun Manoj. The tracks are mixed and mastered by Midhun Anand. @jakes_bejoy @kavignarthamarai @maneethmanoj @midhunmanojj @midhunanand_official @daniboy__73. ThaensudareMusic Composed, Arranged & Produced by Sean RoldanSingers: Sean Roldan, Shakthisree GopalanLyricist: Mohan RajanAdditional programming by Ashwin Raja  Language: TamilGenre: Light MusicMood: RomanticThe album 'Lover' has some amazing songs, and I recently did a full album review on IG giving it 4/5 as the rating. This song along with 'Velagaadha' are the two standout songs. Sean Roldan motors along as one of the best composers we have in India and I cannot rave enough about the focus he applies to composing a good melody. Vocally, Shakthisree Gopalan makes the heartthrob and hair rise all over your skin. The singing is powerful and technically sound, her tone also devastates with that tinge of sadness. The Piano gravitates the pathos, but nothing hits the nail on the head like the Violin solo and the strings. We have the uber-talented dynamo Rithu Vysakh as the One-man String Quartet. The Viola and Cellos are pulling us like strings attached to our bodies and we have to sink deep into this tragic melody. The melody and the arrangements, especially the strings section bear a lot of similarity with Santhosh Narayanan's "Agasatha" from the album 'Cuckoo'. Rithu does a terrific job in producing the string quartet in the interlude. Sean Roldan is the male lead vocalist and the inherent tone in his voice induces some pathos, and hence works like magic. Ashwin Raja does all the splendid additional programming, and the touching lyrics are by Mohan Rajan. Aswin George John is the recording engineer at Sounds Right Studio and Rupendar Venkatesh is the mix/master engineer at Mix Magic Studios. Silver Tree is the Music Management Team. @rseanroldan @shakthisreegopalan @mohanrajan_lyrici @srigouripriya @manikabali87 @ashwin.rajaa @rithuvysakh @aswin_george_john @silvertreeoffl @rupendar_venkatesh4. Kaakarattan Composer- G.V. Prakash KumarMusic Producer- Sathyaprakash Main Artist- Vidya Vox, Rajalakshmi SenthilganesanLyricist- YugabharathiLanguage: TamilGenre: Folk-PopMood: HappyGV Prakash begins 2024 on a great note and isn't that true for Tamil music fans as well? I felt Coke Studio Tamil Season 1 was quite successful and saw the creation of some excellent music, and we are here to witness the birth of Season 2. The stringed instruments we hear are the Mandolin, Ukulele and Saz played by Sachidanand Sankaranarayanan and then the folkish texture emerges with Balasubramani's Nadaswaram. One can still feel that fusion effect with the bass guitars by Derick McArthur. Yugabharathi continues his great form with lyrics as he did in 2023. The lead vocalists are Vidya Vox, Rajalakshmi Senthilganesan who just provide varying tones to the vocals. I love the strings in the interlude, but I can never take my ears off the sizzling bass guitar notes in the background. I am reminded of AR Rahman's "Maanoothu Mandhaiyile". GV Prakash is the composer but it is Sathyaprakash who produced this with a lot of style and substance. The fusion stems from bringing the folk percussion and tapes by Livingstone along with drums by Kumaran SS. The Thavil is played by Shruthiraj. The stanza begins with Vidya Vox's sweet and stunning voice and there is a touch of innocence in her voice. GV has composed a very likeable an

Top Indian Songs of the week 25th February 2024

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 25th February 2024.1. KuthanthramMusic Composer - Sushin ShyamRap - VedanAdditional Music Production - Nivin RaphaelLanguage: MalayalamGenre: Alt Hip HipMood: EnergeticIf you ask me to name some composers/producers in India whose music can make global popular music turn around and take heed, I would come up with names like AR Rahman, Santhosh Narayanan, Charan Raj to name a few. I would put the young Sushin Shyam in this category. He has made huge strides primarily in the Malayalam movie space. This movie 'Manjummel Boys' is getting amazing reviews and I would be not in a position to comment on the BGM score, but the 1 song here is just stunning. It carries a tone similar to some of the Alt-pop music that he created for "Romancham" last year. This single is composed and produced by Sushin, with the additional production by Nivin Raphael. The female humming gives a beautiful Southern music flavour of the 1980s. The guitars are nothing short of stunning with bass by Aswin Lal giving it tremendous style. The keys and rhythms pile up on the song's immaculate grace and where Suchin sets himself apart is using a few more live instrumentals. Many producers would stick with the Hip Hop and keys and rhythm programming, but not this guy. He brings in the bazookas from the Brass section like the Trumpet and Flugel Horn by Rakesh MS and then the Saxophone and Trombone by Rahul Joshua ThomasIt is Allan Varghese who is playing the Piano and he is the man behind the Brass section arrangements. The song despite all these amazing elements, stands clearly on the shoulders of Vedan's phenomenal rapping. He will undoubtedly be one of the top 3 rappers in the nation and his energy, writing and delivery are unmatched. The mixing of the female humming with the EDM vibes is fantastic. Kudos to the chorus performed by Libin Scariya, Milan Joya and Sangeeth Suresh. The outro becomes majestic with the brass section, keys and rhythms. Varun Raj plays the electric guitar. The tracks are mixed by Abin Paul, and mastered by Dave Kutch and the recording engineers are Amrith Raghunathan, Amal S.E and Sibin Wilson at VTP Studios, Music.     @sushintdt @vedanwithword @_chidambaram_ @soubinshahir @thinkmusicmalayalam @manjummelboysthemovie @thinkmusicofficial @sonic_island_studio @mixwithabin @libin_zakharia @nivin_raphael @wheresrjt @book__of_lenz2. Janaabe JaaniyaSinger: Javed AliMusic Composer And Producer: Gulraj SinghLyrics: Manoj YadavLanguage: HindiGenre: Light Music/PopMood: RomanticHere comes an indie single that turned around my morning to glorious from just normal. I loved every note I heard and I only knew that it was Javed Ali on a high with his vocal prowess. Something about the melody and the production told me that this musician has to be special. When I look into the Spotify Credits, there it is, the brilliant Gulraj Singh. Two young musicians who I'll nominate as the greatest finds of 2023 are Jay Unnithan in Malayalam for his outstanding music for "Thrishanku" and Gulraj Singh for the Marathi movie "Unaad". The song here has some excellent writing, especially the melody, and Gulraj surprises us with his skill and commitment to creating something fresh. I did feel influences of Raag Bhimpalasi and Gulraj tells me it is fluid hence probably Mishra. The notes on the lines " tu jaane jaan meri, tu meri dhuniya" are just out of this world. The interlude has all these ethnic plucked instruments giving it a very folkish flavor. Tapas Roy is the exponent behind these instruments. Once the stanza begins we have to just forget the world around us and listen to the ghamakas that Javed Ali displays with such precision and he doesn't miss out on expressing the message of love. Shon Pinto can be heard playing the guitar in the background. It all ends with a magical line " saas saas mein, tu shumar hai, jeene ka tu dariya"I also love the rhythm programming with some very Middle Eastern sounds emerging. Gulraj also brings in the Harmonium and the mild saxophone in the outro. Amey Londhe And Akshay Purandare are the recording engineers at Audio Garage Studios. The mix/master engineer is Ashish Saksena and the fantastic and heartfelt lyrics are penned by Manoj Yadav. The message of love is only partial if it is only Javed's voice and Gulraj's notes, Manoj completes it. @gulraj_singh @manojyadavwrites @javedali4u @rivarora_ @vyrloriginals @ayaanzubair_12 @axe_mix @shonpinto1 @mandolintapas @audiomechanic @shirinsukeshwala @saugatoroychoudhury 3. Rootho Na AiseSinger/Composer/Lyricist - Deepanshi NagarMusic Producer - Aviral KumarLanguage: HindiGenre: Semi-classicalMood: RelaxedWhy and how did I miss this? I can keep beating myself over this. This amazing semi-classical fusion number set in Raag Yaman was sent to me by the artist Deepanshi Nagar, and I repent that I didn't discover it on my own back in December. This is my humble request to all you musicians, please submit your music on my website, the link is right at the top of the article. Deepanshi composes, writes lyrics and performs this beauty and the accompanying acoustic guitars are by Bhushan Chitnis. The heart beats incredibly faster when she says "Thodi der theher jao jao na" in Yaman scale. Bhushan also plays the Strokes and bass guitars for this one. The vocal harmonies in the background in the sthayi section itself are excellently done. Aviral Kumar has done the backing vocals and he is also the man behind this elegant production.Momin Khan stings hard with the solo on the Sarangi and there is such deep emotion flowing when I hear this interlude. Deepanshi's voice is loaded with finesse and her delivery is masterful, keeping things like the classical ghamakas also in her mind and delivering them with subtle ingenuity. Momin once again makes a stunning solo in the outro. Arjit Shrivastava plays the Keys and handles the chord arrangments. Rupjit Das is the recording engineer at Playhead Studio and Rahul Agrawat is the mix/master engineer. The music is distributed by Global Music Junction, Warner Music India with the famous Merchant Records Label. @deepanshinagar @aviral_kumar @salimsulaimanmusic @mominkhanofficial @bhushan_bhu_chitnis @mixedbyrahul @rupjit_playheadstudio @shivansh.j @arjitshrivastava @warnermusicindia @merchant_records4. Tu JaaneVocals - JonitaProducer - ArizaSongwriters - Jonita, Juan Ariza, Julia GarthaLanguage: Hindi/EnglishGenre: Pop FusionMood: RomanticI have already featured this excellent EP by Jonita Gandhi. She rises above the crowd to show that she can not only sing but can write excellent music too. The EP "Love Like That" was given a 3.75/5 by me for some excellent collaboration, fusion and overall production. Vocally Jonta kills it like she always does and no points for guessing that. I had already featured the title song too in one of the weekly articles and it was the best of the lot for me with some sizzling vocals by Ali Sethi and groundbreaking pop-classical fusio. This song too takes a similar trajectory with the heavy pop influences and fusion bits. The lyrics too are a combination of English and Hindi lyrics and they work well for me. "Tere Saath, I'm at a loss, I talk to the wall, par koi sunta nahi ha" is stuff I can relate to with the colloquial nature of the lyrics. The tune and the lyrics are collaboratively written by Jonita, Juan Ariza and Julia Gartha. The singing is of the superlative degree as she sings " sab saamne hai, but you don't see a thing", her delivery breaks my heart, that is how effective she is with her delivery. The string instruments bring in some Middle Eastern flavour as well. The outro has this aalap by Jonita and then the humming pacifies things down. Jesse Ray Ernster is the mixing engineer and mastering is done by Gerhard Westphalen

Top Indian Songs of the week 18th February 2024

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 18th February 2024.1. RomanchanaSingers: Keerthan Holla and Ramya Bhat AbhyankarMusic Director: Nakul AbhyankarLyrics: Pramod MarvanteMusic Supervisor: Ramya Bhat AbhyankarLanguage: KannadaGenre: Pop/OrchestralMood: RomanticNakul Abhyankar blazes away with this astonishing song that rose to the top of the weekly charts, the moment I heard it. Very few songs, probably a score (20) every year stand out like this. Keerthan Holla of "Horatta" fame is the lead singer with Ramya Bhat Abhyankar on the female lead vocals. Keerthan starts with his impromptu-styled intro and then the song takes a wilder turn for the better. For me what worked brilliantly in this song are the arrangements, production and the elaborate presence of Budapest Scoring Orchestra. John Paul is stunning on acoustic and bass guitars all the way, with Nakul's world-beating standards on arrangements and production coming on display. Balasubramanian G is the Orchestra Co-ordinator and Abel, Peter Illényi is the conductor. The song is beaming with positivity and creativity thanks to some superlative vocal harmonies, Pianos and Accordion interventions. We get to hear a flamboyant and playful Ramya in the interludes and also some woodwinds. The song is just not about this grand symphony orchestra, it has this beautiful stanza with some ravishing notes and that is the core of the song. The lines that follow "Mathadithe Thangali na kanda" is pure magic, adding even more beauty with the background humming by Ramya. AR Rahman would be proud of this, as his protege Nakul takes a brilliant flight. Kudos to Pramod Marvanthe for the lyrics. The mixing and mastering is done by MT Aditya Srinivasan. @nakulabhyankar @humanvaibhav @rishikanaik11 @keerthan.holla @pramod_maravanthe_lyricist @ramyabhatabhyankar @mountaditya2. Yeh Desh ThoProduced by Beena Samuel & Sam DevassyComposed by Venkat IyerLyrics by Dr Priyadarshi VaibhavSingers: Steven Samuel Devassy & Saptaparna ChakrabortyLanguage: HindiGenre: Light MusicMood: PatrioticSteven Samuel Devassy has been on my radar ever since he was this cute young kid playing multiple instruments and I have been waiting for the day when he releases some original music. So when I was approached with his submission, it brought about some great excitement. Steven and Saptaparna Chakraborty are the lead vocalists and the composition of this patriotic number is by Venkat Iyer. The song does inspire the very last sinew in you thanks to the composition and lyrics by Dr Priyadarshi Vaibhav. When I heard it I was reminded of another melody " Kallellam Manikka" sung by TM Soundarajan, and from the rhythm and tone and overall tune also reminded of Ilaiyaraja's "Allah un aanai padi" and that is the reason I was tempted to believe that this is set in Raag Mayamalava Gowla. Steven however corrected me that this is rather Vakulabharanam Ragam. Full marks to Saptaparna for singing with such grace and efficacy. The song is uplifted at every turn thanks to Steven Samuel Devassy's fantastic singing as he touches the higher vocal registers with incredible ease and poise. The two lead vocalists combine beautifully in the Pallavi and anupallavi sections. Kudos to Sam Devassy and Beena Samuel for the sound design and production. The Keyboard interlude along with some savvy bass guitars keeps us hooked, ready to take in what comes next in the stanza. But the composition is par excellence thanks to Venkat Iyer who weaves such beautiful melodic notes in the stanza. I love the line " Janmabhoomi yeh hai meri, iski khudrat, iski mitti", both musically and lyrically, especially with trumpets playing in the background. Maneesh Shaji is the programmer and he is also the mix engineer. The recording engineer is Manu Prasad at Muzik Lounge School of Audio Technology and Neehar Amal at Sound Town Studio Chennai@stevensamuelofficial @devassysam @iyervenkat2023 @singersapta @beena_sam_ @muzik_lounge 3. BugsVocals: Tshering BhutiaComposition: S.I. Inc.Produced: Daidipya ShethLanguage: EnglishGenre: Blues-PopMood: HappyHow can one ever ignore stuff that comes out of Compass Box Studios? Here you go, as this is one of those BUGS that you will fall in love with. S.I. Inc. a.k.a. Shankar Iyer composes this stunning blues pop single and we have a superlative performance on lead vocals by Tshering Bhutia. She is in belligerent form, delivering tough notes with consummate ease and there is also a delicate and stylish tinge of colour to her performance. The humming bits right at the start set the tone, with some excellent vocal harmony arrangements induced. We have Pranav Menon on backing vocals. Raag Sethi is the bassist and the energetic drums are played by Pritul Chauhan, with lead guitars by S.I.Inc. There is this solo performance in the interlude and I felt like I was listening to some 1980s Ilaiyarajas song for just a bit. Let us just stand up in ovation for the excellent arrangements and production by Daidipya, who has shown incredible vision and skill to get this song produced with so many layers of vocals and instrumentals. Towards the end, Tshering produces a moment of magic when she sings "Bugs in the Tulip meadow, perusing leaves of yellow" with a wild twist on the word yellow. Who would have thought we would get some interesting lines on bugs? So I guess this is some very fine songwriting by S.I. Inc. and Tshering. The tracks are mixed by Protyay Chakraborty and mastered by Raag Sethi at Compass Box Studios. The recording is at CrissCross Music Studio, Ahmedabad. Chaitri is responsible for the captivating visual art. @daidipyasheth @tsheruu @cort.zenox.user @shanky.inc @nayankapdiya @protyaych @raagsethi @legitcrisscross @compassboxstudio @couscous.art @pritul_chauhan4. Grown upComposer: Joe Kearns, Nikita Mehta, RIKA, Riz ShainVocals: RIKAProducer: Joe Kearns, Riz ShainAuthor: Nikita Mehta, RIKA, Riz ShainLanguage: EnglishGenre: PopMood: PathosI have spoken and written endlessly this year about the rise of RIKA, and her subliminal EP. This is the 3rd song that I am featuring among India's best songs, and this is right up there among the best of the year so far. A song needs a melody that can gently sway you away to melt your heart and lyrics that can wake you up from any slumber. When these two forces work together, you end up getting a song like this. The melody is touching with the potential to make us slaves that can keep humming, and then the lyrics are powerful too. She sings " Climb in the bed, I hold the hands of pretty strangers, Just so I can keep pretending, Its the feeling of my mother's lovin' arms". RIKA, Riz Shain and Nikita Mehta are the authors and the tune is composed by Joe Kearns, Nikita Mehta, RIKA and Riz Shain. The piano keeps hitting the notes hard, and RIKA rises with her powerful expression and delicious mix of falsettos and vibratos. As she sings " Home, Why can I go back home, My keys won't fit the door", the listener feels her pain. The production elements gain traction with rhythms and guitars feeling more intense. Joe Kearns and Riz are the producers who have nailed the vocal and instrumental arrangements. Pixl is the mixing engineer. @rika @warnermusicindia @glvssounds @billmaybs @the_kearnal_86 @nikitaathewild @rizshain @pixlpxl @shekkkkp @gbakermusic @thrdlife @jesskentmusic

Top Indian Songs of the week 11th February 2024

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 11th February 2024.1. All I Need - RIKA Vocals, composition: RIKAMUSIC PRODUCER: RIKA, JOE KEARNSLYRICS BY: JOE KEARNS, RIKA, BILL MAYBURY Language: EnglishGenre: Ballad - PopMood: PathosCheck out Rika's sensational new EP called " Conversations I've Never Had". I just did a review of the EP and gave it a 4.25/5 rating. The EP boasts 4 fantastic songs and I urge you to stream it right away. The guitars are striking in the intro and nothing comes close to grabbing our attention like Rika's spectacular vocals. This British-Serbian singer-songwriter of Indian descent mesmerises us with every note uttered. The pre-chorus segment slowly adds to the tension, as Rika shows her vulnerability in her voice and then when we hit the chorus segment, she rises like a phoenix with her loud and majestic vocals and the strings section in the background levitates our spirits further. Tobie Tripp handles the glorious string arrangements. You will be swayed into paradise when the strings conclude and Rika ends the chorus with a super falsetto at the end of " Yeah you're all I need". The intense lyrics are penned by Rika, Bill Maybury and Joe Kearns, and Rika writes the hummable melody. A lot of credit must go to Rika and Joe for the solid production, as all the programming and arrangements boost the song's output and likability. We have some musicians like Zahra Dry, Huw Robert Edwards, Cellist Alex Marshall, Violonist and Pianist Athena Octavia, and Violonist Nat Willow, involved in this song. The layers of Violins and the Cellos along with the guitars and Pianos make the heart swell in joy and sadness at the same time. The outro is sheer magic with the strings and Rika's humming and ending with the words " Yeah You're All I Need".@rika @rizshain @shekkkkp @billmaybs @gbakermusic @the_kearnal_86 @thrdlife @nikitaathewhild @rizshain @glvssounds @_alexmarshall @natwillowmusic @athenaoctaviolin @zahradry 2. Dil Banaane Waaleya Singers: Arijit Singh, Jonita Gandhi, Vishal Dadlani & Sheykhar RavjianiComposers: Vishal & SheykharLyrics: KumaarMusic Producer: Abhijit NalaniLanguage: HindiGenre: ALt-RockMood: PatrioticThe EP was reviewed by me a couple of weeks ago, and it was not good enough to tease or tantalise the average music lover. Check out the video review of the EP on my IG page. I picked "DIl Banaane Waaleya" as the best song of the album and here is my review of the same. The patriotic mood is usually a very redundant style adopted by many musicians and many lack the melodic freshness that this song provides. It might tick the usual boxes needed for a spirited anthem like this, but Vishal and Sheykhar surprise me in some important instances in the song and make it worth the time and effort to listen to this one. The Piano sets the tone and here things might seem run-of-the-mill, even after Arijit Singh, but it just keeps getting better. Rhythm Shaw hits you hard on the electric guitar at the start and right through, he also plays the acoustic and bass guitars which provide all the support. Arijit, once he hit the higher vocal registers, we get that rush of blood to the head. The interlude has amazing juice with the electric guitar solo, the stylish bass notes and Aatur Soni's drums. Jonita sizzles with her baritone-ish delivery and the short but interesting stanza works well in furthering the beauty of the song. Abhijit Nalani is the producer, and so he deserves a lion's share of the credit for the arrangements and programming. I love it when Jonita and Arijit sing in two different registers and here she showcases such a vast vocal range in the song, just around the 3rd minute. The Choir is one of the highlights and helps in selling a patriotic song like this. Prince Mulla is the arranged for the Choir and the singers are Leena Rajan, Deepanshi Nagar, Shivika Rajesh, Nikitha Venkatesh, Dhanshree Rajvarsh, Ann Fernandes, Shreya Jain, Chaitanya Shinde, Vaibhav Rawal, Garvit Soni, Priyansh Shrivastava, Sakar Apte, Vaibhav Rajvarsh, Ajay Tiwari, Jobin David, Pankaj Dixit, Manish Sharmaa, Siddharth Dixit, Nishant Adhikari and Nimish Shah. Kumaar writes these passionate and inspiring lyrics and the tracks are mixed by Eric Pillai. @vishaldalani @shekharravijani @abhijitnalani @arijitsingh @jonitamusic @aatursoni @rhythm_shaw @princemulla @deepanshinagar @shivikarajesh @nikitha_venkatesh @dr.dhanshreerajvarsh @shreyajainmusic @annette_xo__ @sakarapte @garvitsoni_ @priyanshhhsrivastava @vaibhav_rajvarsh @kumaarofficial @ 3. Tham Zaraa Vocals, Composition, Vocal arrangement - Anurag MishraLyrics - Ronkini GuptaMusic Production - Siddharth PanditLanguage: HindiGenre: PopMood: RelaxedI released an EP review of Anurag Mishra's 'Rang' just a few days ago and you should stream this multi-genre EP right away. It has 3 excellent songs according to me and here is one of my favourites. The song like the rest in the EP is composed and performed by Anurag with this one penned like a beauty by Ronkini Gupta. Ronkini and Anurag combine to deliver this message of love, and Anurag matches the tenderness of the lyrics with his delicate delivery.  I feel he is one of the best out there when it comes to composing and performing with a purpose. The keys and rhythms straightaway draw you like bait. Kudos to Siddharth Pandit for producing this with such amazing style and elegance. "Bezubaan ye dil, sambhal na paaye ye" is touching musically and lyrically. I get that texture of Udit Narayan when he sings the line "bezubaan ye dil" and that is a super compliment according to me. The song feels complete because Anurag goes ahead and makes this short but melodious stanza as well. Siddharth Pandit piles on the beauty with the strings section in the background. The mild but meaningful ghamakas by Anurag impact the listener so much and feel so real. Siddharth also does the mixing and mastering. Ayra Upadhyay and Joey are part of the visuals team for the music video. @anuragmishramusic @panditjeeee @chakoridwivedi @joesymovie @guptaronkini  4. Bediyan Performed by Rashmeet Kaur, Reble, Tracy De SáLyrics by Daiaphi Lamare, Rashmeet Kaur, Tracy De SáProduced by Saurabh LokhandeComposer - Rashmeet KaurLanguage: Punjabi/EnglishGenre: Alt Hip-HopMood: EnergeticJust about a week ago I made a full video review of the album by Rashmeet Kaur called 'Kaura'. This was a worthwhile album with some very good songs, and the album's forte was the strength of collaborations and the diverse styles of songs. This one was one of the best in teh album and it has the melody written by Rashmeet, with lyrics by Daiaphi Lamare, Tracy De Sá and Rashmeet. This is Alt Hip-Hop of some terrific quality. We get some folk Punjabi music getting intertwined with Hip-Hop music. Rashmeet thumps with the Punjabi lines and her delivery is so stylish, showcasing great control and skill. Reble and Tracy De Sá are enthralling in their hip-hop leaving no space for slackness. Saurabh Lokhande amps up the sound with his terrific keys rhythm programming and overall production. This could easily be one of the best Hip-Hop songs of 2024 when it ends. The heavy horns-like sounds are a product of some skilful keyboard programming.

Top Indian Songs of the week 4th February 2024

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 4th February 2024.1. Jaadu ToneComposed by - Shreya JainLyrics by - Shayra Apoorva, Shreya JainProduced by - Nakul ChughLanguage: PunjabiGenre: RockMood: EnergeticI have to just compliment Shreya Jain on this one, having tracked her work for the last couple of years. She has been quite good as a vocalist, but when she can compose a song like this, she is making all the right moves. Her collaboration with Nakul Chugh seems to be working like magic and kudos to Nakul for this exhilarating production. The Punjabi lyrics were written by Shayra Apoorva and Shreya hits us as hard as the solid electric guitars and drums in this rock set-up. Sachin Shahi is the drummer and Ishan Das is charging up the sound with his electric guitars. The energy is pumping with the instrumental arrangements and the chorus segment is sensational, aggravated by Shreya's phenomenal singing. Himanshu Rawat is the bassist. When we get to the stanza, Shreya switches gears with amazing ease and the ferocity in the previous lines perishes. The sweet and gentle vocals with mild ghamakas make the melody sound semi-classical. The lines also are now in Hindi and probably this is why the song has the two lyricists. The outro segment gets pulsating with all the electric guitar and drum support and Shreya's vocal outburst. The tracks are mixed and mastered by Abhishek Ghatak. @shreyajainmusic @nakulchughh @bassman_himanshu @theghatak @shahisachin @rahulrajan369 @shayraa22 @ashwinwashere2. @abhyankkar @thinkindiecollective @tatva_man @directedbykenroyson @anu_viswa @thedancersclub @rupendar_venkatesh @my_deceptive_cadence 3. Dil Ki MezSinger - Shalmali KholgadeLyrics - Varun GroverMusic - PritamLanguage: HindiGenre: Jazz Mood: RomanticHere comes the 3rd song from 'Merry Christmas' that I am featuring in 2024 and surely this puts Pritam in his 'A' game. This one has one of my favourites Shalmali Kholgade on lead vocals and she is blazing away with her delivery. Jazz music is back baby in Bollywood, and we get some wonderful arrangements, with the Piano, the horns section, backing vocals and the Harmonica too. The chorus segment is beautiful and if Shalmali's steamy vocals aren't enough for you, we get the sensational interludes, led by the Harmonica and the backing vocal humming piles up on the beauty. Many a time, songs that are picturised as performances on screen, end up disappointing but this one is mesmerising. I can feel my cells falling in love with the music I hear and when Shalmali sings "Karenge hum yeh galti khamakha". Kudos to Varun Grover for the lyrics. The mild drums never let us lose a moment's focus and the upright bass and Piano combine with great effect in the outro. @shamliaow @vidushak @ipritamofficial4. Cross The LineMusic composed by Chirag Todi and ChezinMusic produced by Divyang AroraVocals, Lyrics: ChezinLanguage: EnglishGenre: PopMood: EnergeticChirag Todi is sensational in playing the guitars in the intro. The song's melody is written by Chirag and Chezin with the latter working on the lyrics and he is also the lead vocalist. The vocals are ballistic and it is impossible to remain calm or static when the song oozes in style and seduction. The humming that precedes and follows "You're taking full control of me" is one of the most delicious parts of the song. Chetan Dominic Awasthi a.k.a. Chezin has some envious vocal qualities and he leverages this with some glorious delivery. Divyang Aora deserves all the credit for producing this song with such style and substance, that it elevates the song to a level crossing all global benchmarks. The arrangements of all instrumentals and vocal harmonies also are done by Divyang. The solo on the guitar towards the end is funky to the core. We also get adequate thump from the rhythms and key departments. Nirmit Shah is the mix/master engineer and the attractive artwork is by Rachel Naomi. @chiragtodi @divyang_arora @chezinofficial @nirmit.music @rachelnaomidias @srilakshmii_5. Top Indian Songs of the week 28th January 2024

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 28th January 2024.1. Dava DavaSinger - Aishwarya RangarajanMusic Composer -K C BalasaranganLyrics- Mahendra GowdaLanguage: KannadaGenre: Pop FusionMood: EnergeticThis is sheer brilliance and just like last week, the composer here too excels at fusing musical styles and we end up getting the number 1 song of the week. K C Balasarangan has composed and produced this song from the upcoming Kannada movie album " Anshu" WIthout Aishwarya Rangarajan's electrifying vocals, the song would only have accomplished half of its final glory. The Keys alone come in with layers and allow Aishwarya to excel with every note uttered. From being a soft and tender performer in the song's Pallavi, she explodes with great energy and attitude in the song's anupallavi section. The chorus section with the line "Dava Dava" lets us experience a rush of blood to the head. The interlude is loaded with the sounds of some ethnic strings. The initial pre-chorus segments tend to have some Sri Ragam influences but when we get to the stanza, there is Raag Darbari at play. The stanza is short but Aishwarya leaves no stone unturned and she displays an amazingly wide range and some terrific vibrato towards the end as well. Balasarangan incorporates a wide variety of rhythms and the humming in the second interlude is a clear giveaway of the Darbari influence. Vairavasan is the brilliant sound engineer behind this output and the tracks are mixed and mastered by by him A at Soniq Grit Studios, Chennai. The recording engineer is Vaishnavi Mishra.@aish_rangarajan @aanandaaudio @kcbalasarangan @nisha_ravikrishnaoffl_ @mahendra.gowda.77 @aditi_narayan_official_2. Pahadon MeinWritten, Composed: Vishal MishraVocals: Vishal MishraLanguage: HindiGenre: PopMood: RomanticYou can never keep a mammoth restrained and under covers, can you? Here comes one of the most talented and accomplished musicians from India, and he delivers a spell-binding performance in this indie project. Vishal Mishra has written the lyrics, composed the tune and performed the led vocals with such finesse. Ishan Das draws you with the guitars, and the gentle voice of Vishal is like the hook or bait and the end of that string. If you are a music lover, this will be your handicap and you cannot escape the beauty of his singing. The melody is so charming and the introduction of the Tabla is magical when the song's Sthayi is repeated, thanks to the live rhythms by Prashant Sonagra and Ishteyak Khan. The strokes are played by Tapas Roy in the interlude and when it combines with the Flute solo by Parth Shankar we are transported to heaven. The melody oozes even more quality into the stanza segment and Vishal captivates with the strings section in the background and the combined beauty of all live string instruments and rhythms. The supreme output of the song is also thanks to Vishal Music assistants Kumar Gaurav Singh, Trihangku Lahkar and Bixal. The tracks are mixed and mastered by Eric Pillai at Future Sound of Bombay with Michael Edwin Pillai assisting on mixing. Trihangku Lahkar at VM Studio and Sanket Tole at SevenHeavenStudios are the recording engineers. @vishalmishraofficial @sonalc23 @kumargauravsing @rajchanana @trihangkulahkar @ericpillai @gauravvaswaniofficial @mahirasharma @bixal__purplehaze 3. If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 21st January 2024.1. Love Like That Vocals - Jonita, Ali SethiProducer - ArizaSongwriters - Jonita, Ali Sethi, Juan Ariza, Julia GarthaLanguage: English/PunjabiGenre: Electronic pop fusionMood: EuphoricFusion music of extraordinary skill and creativity needs due appreciation and recognition. This song is the epitome of such expertise and I knew from the time I heard it that 'Love Like That' would top the charts. Jonita Gandhi's saucy vocals introduce us to the song with electronic pop elements ruling the roost. The clap sounds kind of indicate the approval and ovation from the crowd listening to this. Ali Sethi starts off and the most unexpected shift in the song's style happens with his semi-classical notes intertwining with Jonita's western-styled vocals. Jonita, Ali Sethi, Juan Ariza and Julia Gartha have written the song with Ariza being the producer. As we get to the middle of the song, both Ali and Jonita exhibit tremendous skill as vocalists, singing in the Punjabi lines with incredible control and effective vibrato. When I hear the semi-classical portions I am reminded of Raag Desh. The tracks are mixed by Jesse Ray Ernster and mastered by Gerhard Westphalen@jonitamusic @alisethiofficial @juliagartha @musicariza @jesseraymix @gerhardwestphalen2. Sougandhika Music Composed and Arranged by: Mayur AmbekalluSingers: Siddhartha Belmannu, Aishwarya RangarajanLyricist: Sandeep SunkadProgrammed by: Mayur AmbekalluLanguage: KannadaGenre: Semi-classical popMood: RomanticThere is such an extensive live instrumental display in the intro section and that itself is a rare commodity these days. Mayur Ambekallu gets my approval for this composition and also his skilful arrangements in the song. Sandeep Vashishta kicks things off with the woodwinds, to be followed by Amritanshu Dutta playing the Indian Slide guitar. The guitars are played by Ritwik Bhattacharya and Vinay Sharma. Siddhartha Belamannu had sung one of the best songs of 2023 and I am glad he has begun 2023 on this note. The chorus section becomes quite upbeat like in the dance-pop mode. The interludes put the slide guitar on display once again with Amritanshu given a free hand. The stanza is beautiful with notes that kind of remind of me Raag Brindavani Sarang. Mayur keeps bettering himself as we progress because he not only gives an enjoyable tune but also gets the arrangements to magnify the beauty of the songManonmani and Sarfraz Khan are exponents of the Sarangi and they delight us in the stanza with their interventions. Napier Naveen is the bassist providing such a unique style in the background. Two is always better than 1, isn't it? That is what we get with Aishwarya Rangarajan singing the female lead vocals with her high-pitched perfection and emotionally invested delivery. She dominated in the second stanza and the landing just ahead of the pallavi is executed beautifully by the leads. The recording engineers are Amith Sachdeva at Musicloud Studios Bengaluru and Paul at 20db Studios, Chennai. If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 14th January 2024. 1. Kaatuka Kallakettinaave Music Composer, Lyrics: P V N S Rohit Singers : P V N S Rohit & Sahithi Chaganti Song Programmed by Ebenezer Paul Song was Arranged by Anudeep DevLanguage: TeluguGenre: Musical Theatre/ PopMood: Happy'Dumbstruck', is the word that defines my feeling when I heard this indie single last week, walking back home after a dull and drab day. I realised the power of music in its entirety when this song played out, especially with the theatrics and vocal skill of PVNS Rohit beaming through my headphones. I am not sure how I missed this because it says that this is a 2022 release, but a few Spotify Playlists added this song in 2024. I wanted to feature this song nevertheless. The Accordion and Piano create a Musical Theatre kind of tone with Sahithi Chaganti's feeble humming in the background. After that, it is a show of mastery by Rohit with this incredible control, ghamaka-laden singing. I can hardly comprehend the things he is achieving vocally. The best part of the songs is that nothing is done as overkill, because many a time, vocalists can do so much that the beauty of a tune is damaged. Here PVNS Rohit maintains the sactity of his composition all along as he dazzles with his delivery. Ebenezer Paul does all the programming and the splendid arrangments are handled by Anudeep Dev. I urge singers to try this vocally at home! The recording engineers are Aditya, Bhanu & Anudeep Dev, with mixing and mastering by Abin Paul @flawed_brilliance @ebbypaul11 @anudeep.dev @sahithichaganti @2. Kutty Kudiye Music Composed, Arranged, and Produced: Vishnu Vijay Lyrics: Suhail Koya Singers: Sanjith Hegde, Vishnu VijayLanguage: MalayalamGenre: folk-popMood: EnergeticI am so happy that after long last Sanjith Hegde is being allowed to showcase his brilliant skills as a vocalist across languages. In Kannada, he is the reigning numero uno, but thankfully after AR Rahman made him sing in Tamil for 'Ayalaan', now the fantastic composer/flautist Vishnu Vijay makes him sing in Malayalam. This groovy pop single is from the movie 'Premalu' and I bet that this is going to be a super hit on all social media. Sanjith's singing is spotless and he induces this cool attitude when he delivers the lines so casually. The bamboo flute-based riffs that we hear are by Vishnu and this piece is proof of what Vishnu always offers in every song, 'freshness'. The way Sanjith ends the lines "pathi pathiye aaa, chiri virinje aa" with that mild falsetto reminds me Anirudh too. Nikhil plays the Ocarina which is a very unique wind instrument and the Key flute, with Vishnu on the Bau. The interlude has these elements on display and with the stanza Vishnu and Sanjith combine beautifully and make an indelible statement. The traces of the Accordion are interesting along with all the keys and rhythms. The lyrics are interesting and are written by Suhail Koya. The tracks are mixed and mastered by Sujith Sreedhar @ 2BQ Studios. The recording engineers are Vaishanvi Mishra, Kashyap Ram Mohan and Sanjay Romauld with Vignesh Raj as the sessions manager. @vishnuvijay01 @sanjithhegde @sujithsreedhar @nikhilramtp @suhailmkoya3. Top Indian Songs of the week 7th January 2024

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 7th January 2024. 1. Jaadu Performed by Saptak ChatterjeeWritten by Saptak ChatterjeeProduced by Saptak ChatterjeeLanguage: HindiGenre: Semi-classicalMood: RelaxedIt is amazing to welcome Saptak Chatterjee back to the weeklies on my website after a minor hiatus. It seems he wanted to use the gap to rekindle some ideas and come back with the good stuff. It has worked like wonders is what I believe. This song touched me, the moment I heard it and it just keeps getting better as we progress into the song. The technical prowess of all the Hindustani vocal training is evident in every note he utters and Saptak combines a beautiful voice with that to give us a fulfilling experience. Shrikant Biswakarma plays the guitars and along with the rhythms, we get the necessary layers to elevate the song's output. The vocal harmony layers that flow in with the swaras being sung are an attractive portion that comes as an interlude. I love the segment Shrikant gets more lively with the electric guitars in the background and the solo deserves a special mention. The segment where he sings "jaadu tera , tera nasha" repetitively towards the outro is a fitting end. Saptak has written, composed and produced the song with Keshav Dhar on mixing and mastering. @saptakchatterjeeofficial @keshavdhar @strings_of_karma 2. Ahilya Composition, Sitar: Malvica ChopraArrangement, Production, Mix: Pranav NigamLanguage: InstrumentalGenre: Classical FusionMood: RelaxedMalvica is a trained Sitar player who has been sharpening her skills for 16 years and it shows in this composition and performance. When she reached out to me with this track, I had my heart filled with joy listening to the calmness and serenity the composition fetched me. The song was conceptualised and written a couple of years ago when Malvica Chopra was a student of music in California and she gets Pranav Nigram on board for this instrumental piece with the latter producing it and giving us a delectable output. The sound design is perfect and it intends to relax the mind with the sound of water and the impending artistry in the Sitar. Something I have released is that not only songs but all kinds of tracks like these amazing instrumental pieces should be featured alongside in my weeklies. Why should music lovers be kept away from just gorgeous displays? The Piano that accompanies right through is played by Pranav and he also does the arrangements.I do sense traces of Raag Bilawal and there are movements when the Piano fades away leaving us just Malvica weaving magic on the Sitar and the chirping birds in the background. It soon is followed by a resounding Piano entry and mild layers of vocal harmony. Kudos to Malvica for instilling such vigour in our hearts and exhibiting the power of instrumental music. Pranav other than all the endearing work on production also does the mixing and the mastering is done by Aniruddha Purushe. Check out the amazing music video as well on YouTube created by Dipankar Jain and Fiza of Nazariya Stories. Diskha Sharma Raina is the dancer in the video with the elegant moves. @malvicachopra @pranavnigam06 @dipankar.jain @pencil_bicycler @ani.purushe 3. Top Tamil Songs of December 2023

Here are the best Tamil songs released for the month of December 2023. If you are a musician submit your new music here.1. Lovendra Cassandra Composed, Arranged and produced by Marshall Robinson Singers: Sathyaprakash, Shilvi Sharon Lyrics: Marshall Robinson Additional Lyrics: Kavyanayagi, Shilvi Sharon Voice Over: Alexander Babu Language: TamilGenre: Indie PopMood: HappyI was wondering, why does this voice-over sound so familiar? It had to be the supremely talented Alexander Babu who is one of our finest stand-ups. He has this perfect imitation of the Tamil Brahminical dialect and Marshall Robinson wisely uses this as the intro for a song that is also written with that same dialect in mind, I had a ROFL moment with the whole "lovendra cassandra, en veetla venandra". Marshall goes on to compose, write, produce and arrange this song and it is one clever project overall. Elvis Gabriel is the guitarist giving it a reggae style, and I can relate to ARRahman's "Mustafa Mustafa" from its style and tempo. The melody has some shades of Reethigowla Ragam, me and that is why this semi-classical pop fusion style is so heartwarming and fun. The song is so ebullient thanks to the rhythm programming and singing style which is so casual. The second stanza has the Mridangam by Sumesh Narayanan incorporated to give it an even closer touch to Classical Carnatic music. Kudos to Abin Pushpakaran at Blu Academy for mixing all the tracks and giving us this enjoyable product. Shilvi Sharon breezes through with her English lines. The additional lyrics are written by Kavyanayagi and Shilvi. @marshallrobinson.music @meenakshigovindhrajan @lovendracassandra @dsathyaprakash @shilvi_sharon062. Velagaadha Music Composed & Arranged by Sean RoldanSinger : Kapil KapilanLyricist: Mohan RajanFemale Voice : Aparna Harikumar Music Producer: Ashwin Raja  Language: TamilGenre: Filmi PopMood: RomanticSean Roldan's glorious 2023 continues with this fantastic song coming in December. This is from a new movie that will release in 2024 and the first single has already made a massive impact among fans. The combination of actor Manikandan and Sean Roldan could work out very well here too in the movie "Lover" just like it was flawless for the movie album " Good Night". Kapil Kapilan is taking the world of South Cinema by storm as he sings playback for all languages. Sean Roldans weaves a simple but soulful melody and Kapil is the vehicle to land the song at its rightful destination. The slight Lo-fi and electronic pop influences are not something that Sean attempts often, but he gets it fused with a hummable melody making it a great listen. Mohan Rajan is the lyricist, telling the subject "velagadha enna vitttu valagadha". I like this word 'velagadha' so much more than the stronger word we often hear ' pogadhe'. The song is composed and arranged by Sean with Ashwin Raja producing it. The feeble but beautiful voice of the female belongs to Aparna Harikumar. The stanza is just rich and it makes the heart just grow fonder. Towards the end, Kapil just goes on to improvise, and in a way, it works just like how Arijit has been doing over the years. Ashwin George John is the recording engineer, Rupendar Venkatesh is the mixing and mastering engineer and the music management is by Silver Tree. @kapilkapilanmusic @rseanroldan @mohanrajan_lyrici @nikhila_sankar @rupendar_venkatesh @rupendar_venkatesh @ashwin_george_john @ashwin.raaja @aparnaharikumarh @silvertreeoffl 3. Top Indian Songs of the week 31st December 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 31st December 2023. 1. Sun Khwaab Re Performed by Jaasmaan, Jince Mathew, MagishaWritten by Jaasmaan RProduced by Jince MathewLanguage: HindiGenre: Light MusicJaasmaan Rathore's music acts like a time capsule, whereby it transports us to an earlier decade when Bollywood music was good. This is the second song from his new album " Scratch Singer" that I am featuring and the common factor between both the songs is that the underlying melody is rich, hummable and heartwarming. Jaasmaan has written and sung it and the resemblance to Sonu Nigam's texture and tone is uncanny and unmistakable. Jince Mathew handles most of the song's outstanding arrangements and production and that is what elevates a good composition into a higher orbital. The song hardly gets past the sthayi and antara segments and we already get a load of strings, the flute, Piano, guitars and much more. The melody reminds me "Meri Mehbooba" from the album 'Pardes'. After a delightful guitar-flute Jugalbandhi in the interlude, we are bombarded with creative and splendid instrumental interventions in the stanza. The flute and the Piano continue to titillate us in the stanza but the Violin solo interventions stand out like during the line " ajnabee raah par, ik thikaana mil gaya". Sruthi Balamurali plays both the Violin and Flute, while it is Sumesh Parameswar on guitars. Jince Mathew, take a bow for these mindblowing arrangements. The second interlude has a touching electric guitar interlude almost sounding like a Mohan Veena, and then the flute, violin and strings section follow. Magisha joins the party late but she does make an impact nevertheless on vocals. The bassist is Andre' Vasconcellos, and Jaasmaan handles the bass and vocal arrangements. Keshav Dhar is the mix and master engineer. @jaasmaanrathore @mathewjince @magishamusic @parameswarsumesh @tnbsruthi @andrevasconcellosbx @keshavdhar @megharainaa 2. Jaabili Jaana Music director : Kalyan NayakSingers: Vijay Yesudas, Sitara Krishnakumar  Lyrics: M.V.S Bharadwaj Arrangements: Jonathan Joseph Language: TeluguGenre: Light MusicEven before we get to Vihay Yesudas' vocals, the flute and the bass guitars lay the foundation for what's about to come and cradle us away into oblivion and tranquillity. Nikhil Ram plays the flute, and we have Sumesh Parameswar on all the guitars. Vijay has been featured after a noticeable hiatus on this website and I am happy that we have his voice back to serenading us. Kalyan Nayak is the composer of the tune and he is the music director, but a big shoutout to the arrangements by Jonathan Joseph. We hear multiple layers of live instruments like the flutes, guitars and strings section coming and getting juxtaposed in the interlude. Cochin Strings is responsible for this and we have Laksmikanth and Kalyan Nayak on all the additional arrangements. The stanza continues and it gets richer in the melody quotient. if Vijay's voice wasn't enough to hallucinate us, we got another Diva in Sithara Krishnakumar to hit the final nail in the coffin and leave us for dead. Vijay creates a wave of serenity but Sithara induces a sense of longing and pathos through her vocals. The tracks are mixed by Vivek Thomas, with Aditya G assisting, and Dnal Whelan is the mastering engineer. @kalyannayak_official @nilave_cheli @shreyasi.sen @thevijayyesudas @sitharakrishnakumar @vivekthomasproductions @nikhilramtp @parameswarsumesh@musicproducer.jo @cochinstrings  3. Top Indian Songs of the week 24th December 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 24th December 2023. 1. Mehsoos Lyrics: Yogendra SaniyawalaComposition: Yogendra Saniywala, Swati Minaxi, Biju Nambiar, Gaurav Kapadia, Manuel Lagullón OlivaresVocals: Swati MinaxiLanguage: HindiGenre: Folk/Experimental FusionA folk band also making contemporary and some kind of experimental fusion emerges from Surat and I like many ardent fans of music have started taking them seriously. I had featured them a year or so ago for a song called "Haiya Ho" and another one by the name "Khuda Na Mere". This one however tops them all. Swati Minaxi, the lead vocalist sizzles right from the get-go with that steamy voice. The acoustic guitars keep strumming all along creating the effect of a natural stream of water especially with the keyboards as well. Biju Nambiar is paying the Keys and Yogendra Saniyawala is on the guitars. The song's title talks about 'Mehsoos' and that is what you get when you listen to the song, a wholesome experience that uplifts the spirit. The production is out of this world with the Keys, drums by Gaurav Kapadia and the fantastic accompanying vocals. The varying percussions give the folk flavor and none of this would be so emphatic and moving without Swati's mind-bending delivery. Manuel Lagullón Olivares plays the simmering Double Bass. This single is written by Yogendra and composed by Swati, Manuel, Biju, Yogendra and Gaurav. Vijay Benegal is the mixing engineer at The Audio Guys Institute, Mumbai and the mastering is by Jeremy Hagry at Dune Audio Productions LTD, UK@thetapiproject @gauravpf @bijunambiar97 @indianuance @yogendrasaniyawala @swati_minaxi @payo_maracas @jimbhaai2. There will be two tracks featured this week and they had some scintillating Alt-Hip Hop, fusing rap and Indian folk elements. This one is performed and written by Shlok Varma a.k.a. Bassick and the composition, and production is by one of India's finest, Anurag Saikia. We are taken to rural Bundelkhand thanks to the arrangements and overall programming. Keshav Tyohar also has worked on this project's production. The keys and rhythms are extremely engaging and never sound mundane for even a second. Anurag ups the ante on synths and with Bassick's intelligent writing, and thunderous rapping. Top Indian Songs of the week 17th December 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 10th December 2023. 1. You aint coming Back Written and composed by AnoushkaOrchestral Production: Sparsh VermaLanguage: EnglishGenre: Indie Pop/Orchestral Just a few weeks ago Anoushka delivered a splendid single 'Anomalies' and I was mighty impressed. This time she has taken things up a few notches and gave us probably one of the best vocal performances of 2023 by an Indian artist. I called her up and congratulated Anoushka on this chart-topping single, the kind of song that will and should put India Indie music on a global scale. Sparsh Verma plays the Piano and things start mildly with just her stunning voice pulling us like a string. There are moments when I am reminded of Mariah Carey at her peak delivering a world-beating performance like her famous "Hero". There is tremendous skill and confidence and her execution is flawless whatever the vocal register. Sparsh backs up with his effective production especially the orchestral elements like the rousing strings and horns in the background. Anoushka takes a masterclass here on effective vibrato and some young students of music must try and emulate this performance for vocal practice. Like she says " It is such a shame " that such artists don't get the popular reach of some others who have abysmally low musical talent. I urge readers here to kindly listen to this single and bestow all your love on this outstanding musician. Anoushka has written the lyrics and melody for this. Harsh Kamarkar is the recording engineer are Island City Studios, Mumbai @anoushka_sivasankar @sparshvermamusic_ @theghatak @spitbawl @soppyfriends2. Usire Composed, Produced & Arranged by: Charanraj M R Singer: Sanjith HegdeLyrics: Dhananjay RanjanMusic Programmed by: Charanraj M R & Gautham Hebbar Language: KannadaGenre: Synth Pop It is an unstoppable year for Charan Raj and his team because according to my database of 2023 music, he might well be the best composer of the year for creating two mammoth albums 'Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A' and 'Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B'. This is the 3rd song in the sequel to be featured and one of my favourite playback singers Sanjith Hegde gives a ravishing performance in this song. Dhananjay Ranjan's lyrics are very effective in conveying the mind of the protagonist. The Keys, Synths and rhythms are very 90s synth-pop styled and there is so much to cherish in this. The programming is handled by Charan and Gautham Hebbar with the overall arrangements and production by the former. I am taken into a zone of trance when Sanjith sings "Kelu Kelu Usire" and the synths just pile onto the lovable pain of music. The interlude comes up and I promise you, this would be the best piece you would have heard coming out of India this year. The strings section is heavenly thanks to the arrangements by Narayan Sharma and the execution by Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra & Cochin Strings. The stanza is all about the immense skill and performance of Sanjith and how he successfully hypnotises us with his voice. Sunil Sylvester plays the guitars and the combined effect of the electric guitar solo in the outro with the sound of the train and the synths and rhythms leaves us gasping for breath. Venkatesh G Bhat is the music supervisor, Aniket Mohanty and Kashyap Rammohan are the recording engineers at 2bq Studios. Sujith Sreedhar as always is the man on mixing and mastering for Charan Raj. @charanraj27185 @narayan_sharma227 @venkateshmusic_ @sanjithhegde @gauthamhebbar @sunil.sylvester @sujithsreedhar  3. Darav Darav Song composed, arranged, produced & mixed by AV PrafullachandraSingers - Jayesh Khare & Master Avan Lyrics - Vaibhav Deshmukh Language: MarathiGenre: Filmi PopThere are two things I want to say here at the outset. First of all, I am thrilled to be featuring Jayesh Khare, the young boy, as the lead vocalist here for the second time this year in my weekly charts. Jayesh has profound talent and I cannot wait to track his career in the music field, as someday he is going to be a star performer. I hope the great minds around him handle this talented kid with care and advise him well.

Top Indian Songs of the week 10th December 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 10th December 2023. 1. Snehaardramaay Performed by Satish Raghunathan, Shahabaz AmanWritten by B.K. Harinarayanan, Satish RaghunathanLanguage: MalayalamGenre: Orchestral MelodyI wish such songs got more recognition instead of the dreary, uninventive dance and party songs that keep getting released. Satish Raghunathan, take a bow for this beauty. He has composed, arranged and programmed for the song. The voice of Shahbaz Aman is as pristine as a natural wonder created by God and the coming together of his vocals and Satish's melody and production is divine. BK Harinarayanan is the lyricist. The lines " priyamezhumoraal ariyuvaanaay pakarukee madhuram" send tears down my cheek for the sheer quality of writing, composition and singing. The strings and brass sections are grand like the score in Symphony Orchestra, and one can give an ovation to Budapest Art Orchestra. and even though the song's Pallavi and Anupallavi are melodious by themselves, the arrangements make it heavenly. The Mild Piano and then the Horns join in, but the interlude becomes even more appealing with the bass guitars by Keith Peters and the strings section. The stanza is beautifully composed and performed. Sai Shravanam is the mix/master engineer. @satish.composer @shahabazaman5 @vaisakh_ravi @saishravanam @harinarayanan.b.k @keithpeters_bassman @pazhanjan_pranayam 2. SoubhagyamLyrics - Vinayak SasikumarComposed, arranged, and programmed by PS JayhariSinger - Sithara KrishnakumarCan I put this singer's abilities on paper and describe them using the right words? Brilliance, maybe one word but some of the work she comes up with is beyond description. Just last week I featured a Tamil song called " Mohabbat -Love with Pride" by Sithara Krishnakumar and her act Project Malabaricus. If that was some reverberating Rock, this divine melody. It only shows what a blessed vocalist and a talented performer she is, being able to shift 180 degrees and perform with the same ease.PS Jayhari has been a consistent composer and he once again weaves new magic based on Classical Carnatic influences in this touching melody. Sandeep Mohan plays the guitars and Jayhari and Sithara take us into a world of peace and oblivion. I believe there are traces of Khamas Ragam in this song. The chorus segment along with the Piano and strings section works in tandem to great effect. The interlude with the Piano and the rhythms and Sithara aalap is just another magnetic section. All one can do is, surrender to the rich melody and emphatic production of this song, enhanced by this genius Sithara. The male vocalists on Libin Scaria, Suroor Musthafa and Milan Joy. Nishanth BT at Nhq, Sanjay Sukumaran at Sonic Island are the recording engineers. The tracks are mixed by Abin Paul and mastered by Gethin John, Mastering World, UK. @psjayhari @vinayaksasikumar @imbammovie @sitharakrishnakumar @mixwithabin @libin_zakharia @suroormusthafa @milanjoy_3. Meri Kahaani TuMusic composition, production & arrangement - Rishi KumarVocals - Devanand SP & Ashi Singh!Language: HindiGenre: Indie PopRishi Kumar seems to be a supremely talented musician, because how else can I compliment a 16-year-old prodigy? This is not the first time I have featured him, his compositions "Raah De" a couple of months ago and "Dil Ho Tum" earlier this year. There is magic in his scores and to do this consistently is a sign of some precocious talent.I like how Rishi from Chennai keeps using various vocalists to deliver his sings, and that too gives me great hope for the future, because not only is he willing to experiment with voices and styles for his songs, but he also believes in offering opportunities for vocalists to showcase their talents. Here we have Devanand SP and Ashi Singh. The song is fast and peppy and the pop genre gets to you and alters the mood. Devanand has a ravishing voice and it sounds fresh too. The Piano and acoustic guitars set the tone and make it quite interesting along with the fantastic rhythms which get both Western and Indian styles on board. The interlude is a phenomenal piece with the Veena solo by Ranjani Mahesh. This is where Rishi has a beautiful and creative vision. Just like the Sitar solo in "Raah De", he brings about some fine live instrumentals into the song.

Top Indian Songs of the week 3rd December 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 3rd December 2023. 1. Ennum Enn Kaaval Neeye  Song Composed and Arranged: Mathews PulickanLyrics: Anvar AliSingers: G. Venugopal, K.S. ChithraLanguage: MalayalamGenre: Light MusicI heard this song on a chilly morning in Coimbatore where I was spending my vacation. I got so engrossed in the song that I forgot that I was only planning to do 5 rounds of walking at the society's park, and ended up doing 10 rounds. Maybe that is why they say that good music is great for our mental and physical well-being.  I was eager to get back to Mumbai and see the film " Kaathal The Core", but the song just rapidly increased my urge to do so. It has Mathews shining like a lode star on composition, and arrangements. Being Tamil-speaking I understand most of the beautiful lyrics by Anvar Ali as he writes " Ennum Enn Kaaval Neeye", showing the purity of respect and love between the male and female protagonists beyond marriage and sexual preferences.  Chithra is undoubtedly one of India's greatest playback singers and she possesses something that some other greats also have lacked. At 60 years of age, her vocal prowess remains untarnished and she can sing every note at various vocal registers with incredible ease. The stunning guitars by Sumesh Parameswar pull you close and you just follow like a puppet. With G Venugopal's heartwarming vocals that feel like a tight hug, we stay focussed to the beauty of the tune, but let us not forget the crooning strings by Rithu Vysakh who plays a one-man quartet. Rithu not only plays the Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass, but he also arranges all the string sections in the song. Listen to the magnificent intervention on the violin when Chithra sings " Neeye" and pauses for a bit. The nightingale Chithra touches your heart with every note and the associated emotion. The chorus section comes as a total surprise, instead of a traditional instrumental interlude and it is delivered by amazing singers Sruthy Sivadas, Aavani Malhar, Samanwitha Prashanth, Anila Rajeev, Sreenanda Sreekumar, Aravind Nair, Rajesh Rameshan, Lal Krishna, Aswin Vijayan and Abhijith Damodaran. The song had traces of Keeravani Ragam according to me and also reminds me of another gem "Vaanam Parthen" by Santhosh Narayanan from the album 'Kabali'. I love the line in the stanza "EN kathake , en janale , pon kanave" with Venugopal and the chorus singers. It lifts me and throws me into a higher orbit of joy. I cannot thank Mathews and the team enough for creating this wonder of a song. As we come to a close we have a joyful ride by Sumesh on acoustic guitars and a bass layer underneath. Nikhil Ram plays the touching flute solo in the end and Anand's Tabla is a source of comfort right through. Midhun V Dev is the mix engineer with mastering done by Gethin John. The sound engineers are Amal Mithu, Amal Raj, Vinu Nair, Midhun Manoj Arjun B Nair, KD Vincent and James. @matt.pulickan @kaathalthecore @anvarali113 @kschithra @g.venugopal@rithuvysakh @parameswarsumesh @anadhan @biju @nikhilramtp@shiyad_kabeer @subin.jacob_ @amal_mithu @amal_raj17 @nair_b_arjun @midhunmanojj @kkmmohandas @midhunvdev@sruthy_sivadaas @aavani_malhar @samanwitha__ @anila.rajeev@sreenandasreekumar @arvindnair_official @rajish_n_ramesan@lal_music @aswinvijayan_p @abhijith_damodaran_2. Top Tamil Songs of October 2023

Here are the best Tamil songs released for the month of October 2023. If you are a musician submit your new music here.1. Maya Maya SINGERS: PADMAPRIYA RAGHAVAN, CHRISTOPHER STANLEYLYRICS: KARTHIK NETHASONG COMPOSED AND ARRANGED BY JUSTIN PRABHAKARANLanguage: TamilGenre: Light Music/ PopThis light-hearted movie was wonderful to watch and had some amazing moments to cherish. The song sounds better when heard in the audio rather than in the movie "Irugapatru", but credit goes to Justin Prabhakaran for consistently giving us good songs to hum and sing. He has composed, arranged programmed with all additional programming by Sebastian Sathish. Padmapriya Raghavan is on fire with her vocals and she sings it with such grace and also induces a mild element of teasing and playfulness. The sound of the classical guitar played by Shirish Malhotra adds a layer of romance, and accompanying elements like the bass guitar by Naveen and Trumpets by Vijay, are spotless in execution and arrangements. The song feels like some Latin Pop thanks to the classical guitar and Christopher Stanley matches upto Padmapriya with some passionate vocals. I love the humming portions that make the song groovy. Then the combination of the rhythms and trumpets is gentle on the ears but gigantic on the hearts. Bharath Dhanasekar, a composer with very good talent handles the rhythm programming. The breezy melody will occupy your head for days. The recording engineers are Adhithya Sivakumar, and Kashyap Rammohan, mixing is Balu Thankachan with assistance from Paul Daniel. AnbumaniLanguage: TamilGenre: Light MusicThe movie Parking is being appreciated by reviewers all over and it feels nice to know that good music is also present in good movies. Sam CS is probably at the peak of his powers and his list of scores both in Tamil and Malayalam is finally making the world notice his potential. Keba's acoustic guitars are almost played like the Ukulele and Kapil Kapilan just powers through with his fabulous vocals. The song just transforms into something impactful when the lines " enna maathina maayavi". Sam shines as a lyricist too here.  Keba also plays the electric and bass guitars and Sam composes such an elaborate anupallavi segment here that we hear so many changes, arrangements, a humming etc. Kalyan's electric violin comes in as the interlude and Kiran plays the flute. The elaborate strings section is thanks to Chennai Strings Orchestra. Top Indian Songs of the week 26th November 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 26th November 2023. 1. My Fellow ShowmanWRITTEN BY: RIKA, DOMINIC JAMES, JOSH WHEATLEY PRODUCED BY: RIKA, DOMINIC JAMESLanguage: EnglishGenre: Indie PopThis British singer-songwriter of Indian descent is a musical rage at just 21. I have featured her before for a fantastic single called " Love to You" and now this one tops this week's Indian charts. Rika has written the melody and lyrics along with Dominic James and Josh Wheatley. The guitars are thumping and ooze all the energy thanks to Josh playing it. The vocals by Rika are nothing short of stunning, with emotions being exhibited with great effect through her singing. She uses her wide vocal range to full effect as well especially when we get to " You're broken like me" past the 2.20-minute mark. The production by Dominic and Rika is spot on. The vocal harmonies are arranged to perfection especially when the guitars and drums fade away. The writing is intense with lines like " Lost the words in the space 'tween my mouth and my brain, How do you like me now? As I exit the stage". @rika @glvssounds @pixlpix @sanica.photos 2. Bhoo BandhamMusic Composed and Arranged by: Vijay PrakashSingers: Vijay Prakash, MangliLyrics: Chandra BoseMusic arranged and produced by Nakul AbhyankarLanguage: TeluguGenre: Folk-PopBhoomi 2023 strikes again for the 3rd time now, with this mind-blowing genre-bending song composed and arranged by the masterful playback singer Vijay Prakash. This Telugu number has Mangli and Vijay as the lead vocalists and the talented Nakul Abhyankar produces the song with great efficacy and also handles some arrangements. The moment Mangli grabs our attention with her distinct tone, we can sense the influence of Raag Anandaabhairavi. The strings section in the background is mild, meaningful and magnificent. Shruthiraj sizzles with the rhythms and the bass guitars accompanying provide great style. We get to hear the folk humming thanks to the list of superb vocalists in Sarath Santosh, Saisharan, Santosh Hariharan, Deepthi Suresh, Sireesha Bhagavatula and Soundarya Bala Nandakumar. All the sounds in the background ensure we get the folk flavour and so kudos to Vijay Prakash and Nakul. Kamalakar and Shivrudra Singh Rathore play the Flute. The interlude is a symphony of the humming, strings section and flute interventions. Shruthiraj is on top of his game with all the varied percussion sounds brought to life. The recording engineers are Sathya Narayanan, Ainul Huq and Pradeep Menon at AM Studio, Chennai. Top Indian Songs of the week 12th November 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 12th November 2023. 1. Dil Baro Singer, Composer: Junaid AhmadLyrics: Sunayana Kachroo and Junaid AhmadProduction & Arranged by: Junaid AhmadLanguage: HindiGenre: Light Music/PopThe sound of the Rabab makes me feel like I have just met with God (Rabb) Himself. This young composer/producer, Junaid Ahmad from Kashmir shows his roots with the enchanting Rabab notes played played Sabyasachi Deb. Junaid was a finalist in an Indian music reality show called Big Golden Voice and one can easily fathom, why. He has written the melody and performed the soothing vocals. Sunayana Kachroo and Junaid have collaborated on the lyrics. The fact that he is trained in Indian classical music, comes to light through his performance, especially the mild ghamakas and aalaps. Mohit Dogra accompanies on acoustic guitars but the Sitar solo by Mehtab Ali Miazi along with the alaap by Junaid in the interlude. The song's pre-chorus segment feels a bit like Pritam's "Subhanallah". Raghav Sharma sizzles with the bass guitars and Keys. The change in the song's tempo is fantastic when we get to the chorus segment thanks to the bass, rhythms and fast-paced Rabab. The solo on the Sitar gets interesting having some fragments of Raag Yamunakalyani. The song continues to maintain its delicious melody in the stanza, and the song's overall tone creates an aura of travel and happiness. Mehtab is a star with his SItar solo that springs up again in the second interlude and the notes are very beautifully written when we get to the outro as he goes in Kashmiri " Baa balai chaanie deedar seet". This is where I sense the pathos of Raag Charukeshi. The tracks are mixed and mastered by Nicks Kukreja and Raghav Sharma. @junaidmusic_ @sunayanakachroo @ansha_mohan @nicks_kukreja29 @ebc_originals @deepak.v.rawat @artistefirst @rohitsobti1 @kalki_29dec @rackkeys  2. Kaash Composed and Performed by: Harry AroraWritten by: Jashar Singh & Harry AroraMusic Production by: Aditya VermaAdditional Production by: Swarup Chattopadhyay & Chaitanya PanditLanguage: HindiGenre: Rock BalladEarlier in the year I reviewed Harry Arora's EP "Girta Toot'ta DIl" and his song "You'll Leave Me Behind". The song is a roller-coaster ride and creates such raw emotions when we listen to it. Harry is a heavily talented vocalist and he did offer one of 2023's best vocal performances in the EP. Continuing from where he left off, Harry serenades us with this Hindi single, giving so much focus to every syllable and note. The slow acoustic guitars by Akash Ravi Chopra are mild without ever taking any attention away from Harry's singing. Pritul Chauhan does brilliantly on drums shifting from mild to heavy in various segments. I feel deeply disturbed hearing his vulnerable and valiant vocals and it is not just the singing, but the arrangements too that deserve praise. The song is produced by Aditya Verma with Swarup Chattopadhyay & Chaitanya Pandit on additional production. The piano and the strings section create beautiful additional layers but then the electric guitar by Austin Furtado in the interlude steals the thunder. We get a well-written stanza and I love the way the line is written "yeh man ka karaar jo har baar toote, pyaar mein hai kyun", both from a musical and lyrical perspective. Kudos to Jashar Singh & Harry Arora for the lyrics.  A moment comes after 3.30-minute mark when the guitars fade and the drums vanish, here Harry hits the final nail on the coffin with his singing, and the engaging strings section does its bit. The song is recorded at Raag Sethi's Compass Box Studion, Ahmedabad and the tracks are mixed and mastered by Harry and Chaitanya. Austin and Pritul sizzle in the outro. @harrythisside @funkyouadi @saumyauniyal_ @pritul_chauhan @austin.furtado.3 @jashar.singh @akashravichopra @chaitanyaya @swarupchattopadhyay @compassboxstudio @dusky_dolphin_films @bluecassettestudios 3. Top Indian Songs of the week 5th November 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 5th November 2023. Here is the SPOTIFY Playlist of the Top songs of the week1. Din Shagna Singer - Neha BhasinMusic - Sameer UddinLyrics - Garima ObrahLanguage: PunjabiGenre: Folk/PopThis is a week with some outstanding music, and I couldn't think of a better song to top the charts for the week. The Sarod-sounding intro gave richness and quality from the start and Omkar Dhumal's Shehnai creates the perfect ambience for a wedding scene. Sameer Uddin has been featured more than a few times on this website he deserves a massive round of applause for composing and producing this heartwarming number. Neha Bhasin's vocals just keep getting better with every note and she mixes a tinge of sadness and longing with joy and the end end product is gold. Neha is accompanied by Murishka D'cruz & Natasha Pinto and they sing the same lines at times and then sing a beautiful mild humming too. This piece of vocal harmony arrangement is a highlight of the song and once again is a feather on the cap for Sameer for the flawless arrangements. Natasha's Piano interventions are timely and the verse is fraught with some stunning quality. The notes are excellently written and thanks to the accompanying Shehnai and harmonies the song gets elevated constantly. Tanishk Lalla and Prasad Waglekar are Sameer's musical assistants and need to be complimented as well. Garima Obrah's apt and touching lyrics help in delivering the message. There are also acoustic guitars and ethnic strings, mandoline that are employed all through the song, especially in the interlude. Neha is on fire in the bridge section with some memorable high-pitch notes filled with ghamakas. This is an outstanding number that shines on all elements that make a song stand at the very top. Neville Dubash (Tune Inn Studios) is the mix engineer and Chris Athens has mastered the tracks. Ennile Punchiri Song Composed and Arranged by - Sam C.S Programmed by - Jomey JohnsLyrics: Vinayak SasikumarSinger : K.S. Chithra, Kapil Kapilan We all want to constantly keep listening to legendary vocalists and their voice is like an eternal flame. Music composers too want to be involved with such legends and that is why they collaborate with them and make them sing the composer's notes. Many a time, this falls out as the singer is unfairly given a mediocre song and the purpose of the project becomes more of a self-gratification attempt for the composer with fans left in disarray. This song composed by Sam CS features the Nightingale KS Chitra and Sam delivers a breathtaking song and finally allows music lovers to listen to the true greatness of Chitra. Joseph Vijay's acoustic guitars takes us into an Ilaiyaraja mode straightaway and within seconds the song gets etched in our memory forever. We can also Joseph's bass guitars Kiran's flute solo and the mild strings section by Cochin Strings in the background. Kudos to Sam for generating such a massive impact with all the live instrumental arrangements. Kapil Kapilan's entry with that humming is pristine and loaded with pathos. From there on Chitra takes care of the rest. Shruthi Raj's percussions and rhythms are gentle but generous. The humming by Chitra is so addictive and the way she ends it with a quick ghamaka is nothing short of brilliant. We have Jomey Johns on programming and Vinayak Sasikumar writing the lyrics. The song reminds me Ilaiyaraja's " Malaiyaoram Veesum Kaathu" sung by SPB in 1987 for the album 'Paadu Nilave'. We have Francis Xavier, Josekutty, Herald Antony, Carol George, Jain, Danny, Albin Jose, and Francis Sebastian playing the Violins and Violas, Albin Jose and Carol George on the Cellos and Sanjai Arakkal have recorded the live strings session. The interlude has many layers of the Flute and with the notes played here it also takes me to Ilaiyaraja's "Manguyile Poonguyile". Sam proves his potential with an equally haunting and enticing stanza and Kapil stands tall in front of Chitra performing the vocals with great finesse. The recording engineers are CD Anbumani, Abishek Ar and Aakash Edwin, Balu Thankachan is the mix/master engineer with assistance from Paul Daniel and Hariharan on mixing. The Music Production Managers are K Mahima Chowdhary and Kannan with Indhumathi, and Sathyamurthy as the Music Production Team. Top Indian Songs of the week 29th October 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 29th October 2023. Here is the SPOTIFY Playlist of the Top songs of the week1. Meri Jaan Singers: Asees Kaur, Abdul Rashid Hafiz Music: Mithoon, Abdul Rashid HafizSong created, composed and arranged by MithoonLyrics: A. M. Turaz, Abdul Ahad NazimLanguage: Hindi/KashmiriGenre: FolkBhoomi continues to give us some of India's best original music, and in many ways, it has overtaken "Coke Studio". The song gives off a Raag Shanmukhapriya vibe from the starting itself, with the Kashmiri lines sung by Abdul Rashid Hafiz. The lyrics are penned in Kashmiri by Abdul Ahad Nazim. The moment this intro ends, Asees Kaur begins to strike the listener with her uniquely gifted and enamoured voice. AM Turaz writes the Hindi lyrics and I just love the line " Jo ja rahe ho jana, meri jaan lete jaao na". It is beautiful from a musical, vocal and lyrical perspective. Mithoon has been a decent composer in Bangla and Hindi film music, and it is nice to see him excel here in this indie project, with this song he cooks up a fantastic tune as well. The sound of a Duduk is what probably comes and intervenes just before Asees' vocals and we hear all the woodwinds played by Naveen Kumar. The percussions are diverse and beautifully give a Middle Eastern flavour. Bobby Shrivastava, Anugrah, Godswill Mergulhao, Eli Rodrigues, Omkar Salunkhe, Keyur Barve, Jignesh Patel & Kaushal Gohil play the live percussions and the strokes and plucked instruments are played by Tapas Roy and Chintoo Singh Wasir. The humming by Asees is haunting and she proves with every note performed that she is exceptional and a valuable asset to any composer. The Kashmiri lines have these chorus segments performing together and that sounds divine. The singers are Raj Pandit, Aditya Kalway, Shivansh Jindal, Prateeksha Srivastava and Priyanshi Srivastava on backing vocals. We also have a set of chorus singers like Pragati Joshi, Archana Gore, Deepti Rege, Janardan Dhatrak, Umesh Joshi and Dattatray Mistry. Mithoon is the composer and he also arranged and programmed the song with assistance from Anugrah, Godswill Mergulhao, Eli Rodrigues & Kaushal Gohil. Godswill and Bobby Shrivastava have done the music programming. The song's style quotient also emerges from the bass guitars of Akashdeep Gogoi. Raj Pandit arranged and supervised the Kashmiri vocals. The recording engineers Raj, Shahid Vaakhs, and Eli Rodrigues. The mix/master engineer is Eric Pillai with mix assistance from Michael Pillai. @aseeskaurmusic @mithoon11 @salimmerchant @salimsulaimanmusic @merchant_records @shivansh.j @mithoon11 @amturazoffical @shahid_vaakhs_official @abrashidhafizz @rajpandit17 @mandolintapas @omkr99 @godswill.i.am @anugrah4music @keyurdrums_official @akashdeep_gogoi_music @kg_music_86 @chintoosinghwasir @_jigneshpatil_ @kg_music_86 2. Fursat Performed by Amit Trivedi, Rupali Moghe, Siddharth - GarimaWritten by Amit Trivedi, Siddharth - GarimaLanguage: HindiGenre: Semi-classical Electronic PopThe man has fallen from his peak and that is something I have been saying for the last few years. It is not disrespect but it only shows how much I value his musical abilities of the past. Amit Trivedi must be credited and praised for still trying hard both in film music and indie projects and with this new album called "Songs of Trance 2" he gives a few songs to dance to. My favourite from the album is 'Fursat', composed by Amit and written by Siddharth-Garima. The song is fantastically performed by Rupali Moghe and Amit has been collaborating with her as a vocalist for the last couple of years at least. The song is heavy on Keys and Synths and is a programming delight. The rhythms too are very modernised and give off that electronic pop vibe. The vocal harmonies, come and go along with the flute and keys create a very likeable interlude. I did sense some Raag Bhimpalasi and we have a wonderful combination of a great tune, excellent lyrics and masterful vocals. Rupali shows incredible skill in singing with great expression, style and a wide vocal range. Amit does well in creating a full-fledged composition, that has some amazing arrangements, interludes, stanzas and the whole-nine yards. The engaging outro is one fine example of Amit's abilities. @rupali_music @itsamittrivedi @siddharthgarima @amittrivediazaad

Top Indian Songs of the week 22nd October 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 22nd October 2023. Here is the SPOTIFY Playlist of the Top songs of the week1. ImmortalisePerformed by The Flying Fish, Varun UdaykumarWritten by Aaditya Surve, Aaron Braganza, Shishir Sharma, Suyash Kinjal Medh, VarunUdaykumarLanguage: EnglishGenre: Alt-RockI am yet to listen to the EP called 'Waves Shattered', but when I heard this single, the music felt like an Immortal being. The Flying Fish is a 4 piece Mumbai-based band that focuses on instrumental music. This is no wonder that the quality oozing from this single is pristine. The band has Aaditya, Shishir on guitars, Suyash on drums, and Aaron on bass guitars. The vocals belong to Varun Udhayakumar and he brings in all the emotions along with the accompanying instrumentals. The delivery is very much along the rock genre that the song belongs to. Varun gives an immersive experience with his higher vocal registers and a tone that carries an attitude. This is visible in his humming. The electric guitar solo is mild in parts and the backing vocal harmonies elevate the song's texture. The tremendous drums and guitars give a spell-binding touch to the song, but Varun blows away the listener with his vibrato and innovative improvisations in the outro segments. @aaronbraggy @aaditya274 @rainvioletsky @beegradehero @suyashmedh @shishir1689 @theflyingfishindia2. SunohComposers: Ankur Tewari & The IslandersLyrics: Javed Akhtar, Dot.Vocals: TejasLanguage: HindiGenre: Pop/RockWe have all been waiting for "The Archies" and when it gets released later this year, expectations will be running high. Ankur Tewari who has been involved with the creators of 'Made in Heaven', Reema and Zoya, gets a call for this project of theirs as well. Ankur composes this song, but it involves a galaxy of amazing indie musicians viz. Dot. , Tejas, Shivam Mahadevan, Zohran Miranda, Jehangir Jehangir, Nathan Thomas, Aria Nanji, and Rhys Sebastian. The song takes us back to the 1960s and 70s and the resemblance to 'That Thing You Do' by "The Wonders" is there for us to appreciate and cherish. The amazing guitars that accompany from start to finish are by Zohran, with some energetic thumping drums by Jehangir. Tejas is one of the most gifted indie singer-songwriters I have come across and his vocals are the perfect addition to this song. He brings in some tenderness of the young age and a style that is necessary for this style of Pop/Rock.The song's funkiness comes from Nathan's bass guitars, but that Jazzy saxophone by Rhys makes this one delightful ride. Aditi Sehgal a.k.a. Dot. is an amazing artist I featured her fantastic EP last year, and here she has penned the English lyrics, sung the backing vocals and also acted in one of the lead roles. She is accompanied by Shivam and Aria on backing vocals. Jehangir needs immense praise for constantly innovating and playing the drums without inducing a moment of boredom or predictability. The horns section comprising the trumpets and trombones, is conducted by Suresh Lalwani with Raina Andrade as the score assistant. The tracks are mixed by Hersh Desai at Island City Studios and mastered by Adhithya Sivakumar. The recording engineers are Adhithya, and Jehangir, with assistance from Harsh Karmakar. The album is mastered by Ashyar Balsara with additional music supervision by Faustin Missier@ankurtewari @tigerbabyofficial @zohranmiranda @tejas1989 @nate08music @thejjsticks @thearchiesonnetflix @dotandthesyllables @saxontoast @shivammahadevan @ariananji @hersh.desai.9 @adhithya.sivakumar @ashyarbalsara3. PremalekhaPerformed by Damini Bhatla, Krishna TejasviWritten by Damini Bhatla , Siddhant Mishra, Sri Harsha EmaniProduced by Siddhant MishraLanguage: TeluguGenre: Ballad/PopDamini Bhatla is a talented musician and what I love about her work is that she performs in her mother tongue Telugu in most of her indie projects. The South is dominated by movie-based music so when indie musicians perform in their native tongue, it creates an avenue for many youngsters to take inspiration and follow. A music lover like me is also enthralled when I have more variety now in the indie space. This song scores high in the competition about everything else and that is why Damini and Siddhant Mishra need to be complimented on the melody. Siddhant who is a very capable as well as consistent composer/producer, produces this song as well. Sri Harsha Emani writes the beautiful words in Telugu while the lead vocalists are Damini and Krishna Tejasvi. The Keys turn on the melody and then Damini cranks it up a notch with her delivery and mild and moving ghamakas. The pallavi is the highlight of the song with the lines "sagasagaala premalo, thamari vonthu immani" with an unpredictable twist in notes at the end of the second set of lines ending on " vonthu immani". Krishna's voice is dreamy and teeming with love, complimenting Damini's quite well. The entire pallavi is composed by Damini with Siddhant handling the charanam's melody. He has done a commendable job in producing this with the keys and rhythms. The stunning saxophone interlude reminds us of AR Rahman's album called "Duet" which was filled with saxophone interludes. There are some segments in the song where I sense some Raag Maand. The charanam has its moments too with my favourite being "samaram saantham nee valle telisele prema", with Damini and Krishna singing in unison. This could well be the poster love song in Telugu for 2023. Damini once again composes the outro humming. @daminibhatlach @siddhant581 @i_sriharshaemani @krishnatejasvi 4. Jee Ki GathariyaSingers - Rekha BhardwajComposer - Vishal BhardwajLyricist - Vishal BhardwajMusic Producer - Debarpito SahaLanguage: HindiGenre: TumriThe series on Sony Liv called " Charlie Chopra" is a mixed bag and so is the music. This is my favourite song from the album and we have the amazing duo of Vishal Bhardwaj and Rekha Bhardwaj on compsition and vocals. Vishal shows that he still has traces of the genius he once exhibited at will. The music is haunting and it belongs to the Carnatic Raaga Subhapanthuvarali or the Todi thaat in Hindustani classical music. The choice of the Indian classical percussions adds that serene beauty and authenticity to the tone. The saxophone interlude works quite well in transmitting the pathos of the song. The stanzas are short but the overall composition and the brilliant Saxophone interludes by Mysore Harish Pandav along with the mild Piano interventions work wonders. Debarpito Saha deserves all the credit for the production, arrangements and programming. The tracks are mixed by Salman Khan Afridi and mastered by Alok Punjani. @vishalrbhardwaj @rekha_bhardwaj @debarpito @alokpunjani @mysore_harish_pandav 5. Bhool JhaSinger: Arijit Singh Ft. Top Indian Songs of the week 15th October 2023

If you are a musician submit your new music here. Here are the best songs released in India across languages and genres for the week ending 15th October 2023. Here is the SPOTIFY Playlist of the Top songs of the week'1. UpasanaWritten, Performed: ParamLanguage: KannadaGenre: Hindustani Progressive RockThe band from Mysuru released a new album called 'Upasana' and this had some very fine music, spread across 7 songs. This title song was my favourite and it has been written in Kannada. Vijay Hegde, the frontman is in terrific form as the lead vocalist. This is pure heaven for both rock fans as well as Classical music fans. Vijay possesses an incredibly wide vocal range and he outs it great use right at the start. Shreyas Urs plays the lead guitar like he is about the blow away the fuse, and that is important in maintaining the energy of Vijay. Mayur GS on drums is in a belligerent mood as well and we get an infusion of funk and style through Sanketh Kumar's bass guitars. The interludes involving the drums, guitars and bass are paradise on earth and we enter a world of dreams where God is a guitarist. Vishal Athreya Kalbag is the 4th member of the band who is the percussionist. Just past the 3rd minute the intensity drops, and the guitar and drums become very mild, but Vijay sings with an unabating passion and this segment is where I felt like I heard Raag Darbari. Vijay delivers one of the best vocal performances I have heard in the last couple of months. For YouWritten, Performed: Salt RockLanguage: EnglishGenre: Alt-RockSalt Rock is an Alternative Rock outfit from New Delhi. The musicians took me by surprise as I had never heard their music before. I was thrilled with every passing second and now I am going to be heavily invested when they release anything. Aditi Sharma is the lead vocalist and she performs a banger here, exhibiting style and chutzpah with every syllable and note. Mayank Lawrence is not far behind with his sizzling guitar strumming and it is caffeine for your ears when he is in full flow.Vishrut Shankar Shukla and Sarthak Pradhan aren't far behind adding beauty with the bass guitars and drums respectively. The song just gets incredibly enjoyable when we get to the chorus segment and the lines " Call my name" begin. The song's tone has a Raag Jog resemblance, maybe it is Minor Pentatonic scale then.  The bridge section is all about Aditi's vocal abilities getting highlighted. The segment past the 2.40-minute mark has the interlude on electric guitars, adding inspiration and setting the song apart from many others in the week. @salt__rock @_sarthakpradhan @aditi__sharma @vindalooshaker @mayanklawless 3. ManmaaniPerformed by - AKASAComposed by - AKASALyrics by - AKASALanguage: Hindi/PunjabiVedant Thakur invites me into the maze of music and melody with that beautifully sounding guitar. I felt like he was sitting next to me and wielding that wand. AKASA has been featured by me before and for some sensational music. She goes solo here composing the melody, writing the lyrics and performing the lead vocals. When AKASA starts singing, you believe you are amidst some Grade A performer. The tone of her voice is stunning and she plays around with a few mild vibrato here and there like the line " phir kyun majboori se, lipta h
